Halo 4 takes place in a futuristic science fiction setting in the year 2557, four years
after the events of Halo 3 and is set in the Halo Universe.
Each character has their own voice actor and
there are various sound elements to set the
scene. For example the sound of the
engine/power of the ship is for the location of
where it is happening.
The Halo 4 ending cutscene establishes a very dramatic mood with the use of the
soundtrack used and the various different sound effects.
Different sound effects and a dramatic soundtrack
have been fused together to create a dramatic
mood.
The cutscene clearly shows that Halo 4 is a Sci-Fi/ FPS game.
Sounds effects such as guns firing and things
falling have been used to set the game genre.
Other things such as Spaceship sounds have been
made using computers to also tell us about the
Game Genre.
The Master Chief is trying to save Earth from the Didact, An ancient Forerunner
warrior. He gets to the epi-centre of the ship and battles it out with the Didact until
Cortana helps him out and the Didact falls off the edge and is killed.
Different effects are used such as the spaceship
engine whirring or the sound of power generators
and dialogue to narrate the story.
