Each year, more than 500 people participate in this energizing event to show their support for food science students.
The Fun Run and Walk helps raise funds to support food science scholarships.

Social media played a big role at IFT, and this year saw the first official IFT “tweetup.”
A tweetup is a gathering of people who use twitter – an in-person & informal meetup of people who “tweet”.

There was a broad level of interest in natural colors for foods and beverages.
We saw a record number of clean label inquiries.
Mintel reported:-- 40% of US Consumers seek confectionary products with no synthetic colors-- New products with natural food coloring increased 15% annually from 2009 to 2013 on a global basis
