IF Sentinel
The website is advertising the movie 'Ender's Game' which was based on the popular book. The
website is used to advertise the film with videos, gifs, posters and articles to make the viewer
feel a part of the story.
Below the title IF Sentinel (1) there is some
text saying “informing citizens, training
leaders, protecting earth’s future”. The developers are trying
to reach out to the younger generation by taking something
they would think about (space travel/aliens) and making them
apart of it with what they are reading and seeing on this
website. The dialogue at the beginning of the video played in
source 3 says “Welcome to battle school; a great responsibility
rests upon each one of you”. This is also trying to make the
target audience feel a link between themselves and the movie
as “school” is said.
The developers are not just prioritizing the younger generation
but the older as well. At the bottom of the poster (2) it says
“#ENDERSGAME” which is a social media category that older
people could find out more about the film. Also in source 3 at
the bottom is facebook, twitter and tumblr buttons so it
makes it easy for people to share their media.
The official movie poster is
designed to draw the target
market in with its high tech
futuristic design. The
background of the image
makes you want to watch the film as you can see
something’s going on the other side, plus the character is
wearing a mask and a suit which also draws you in as you
want to find out who it is.
The professional layout of the poster lets the audience know
that the developers have spent a lot of time on this project.
Little things like the glossy text, character thumb nails and
the quote in the middle of the poster gives it an edge.
