Children are playing less with one another, which can negatively impact their development. There are two main reasons for this - parents allowing excessive TV/phone use and a focus on individualism over team activities. To address the issue, children should be encouraged to spend more time playing outdoors together rather than using digital devices, and parents should enroll them in group activities like sports that foster social skills. Timely interventions are needed to resolve the problem of declining social play among children.

Distraction Of Modern Life In Child.pdfCarenestIndia
Modern life bombards children with constant distractions from screens, social media, and fast-paced activities. This overload can hinder focus, creativity, and healthy development. Balancing technology with real-world experiences is crucial to ensure children's growth, cognitive abilities, and emotional well-being aren't compromised by excessive distractions.
Distraction Of Modern Life In Child.pdfCarenestIndia
Modern life's distractions hinder a child's development, focusing on technology, social media, and screens. Their attention span shrinks, creativity suffers, and physical activity declines. Balanced engagement with real-world experiences, outdoor play, and meaningful connections must be encouraged to foster their well-being, cognitive growth, and emotional development.
Social skills and building relationships can be a challenge for children and adults with ADHD.
Issues with social skills usually stem from the fact that they lack the ability to pay attention
long enough to pick up the social cues, that others take for granted. They also are
challenged with impulsivity that leads to a multitude of difficulties, from hurting someone’s
feelings unintentionally to acting out in a physical manner. These challenges can cause
turmoil in the school, home, and workplace.
Technology Affecting the learning Behavior of ChildrensRupa Bhowmik
It’s important to come together as parents, teachers and therapists to help society “wake up” and see the devastating effects technology is having not only on our child’s physical, psychological and behavioral health, but also on their ability to learn and sustain personal and family relationships. While technology is a train that will continually move forward, knowledge regarding its detrimental effects, and action taken toward balancing the use of technology with critical factors for development, will work toward sustaining our children. While no one can argue the benefits of advanced technology in today’s world, connection to these devices may have resulted in a disconnection from what society should value most, children.
We need to understand the ways technology is impacting our children, and how to encourage the right use of technology so it can have a positive effect on their behavior and development, as opposed to a negative one
Negative impacts of technology on child's mental health.docxVigour360
In the age of technology, children have easy access to different gadgets such as iPad, laptops, iPhone, smartphones etc. Parents introduce screens to kids as learning medium, on the contrary misuse and overuse of technology adversely impact child’s mental health.
According to observational studies there is a correlation between screen media exposure and increase obesity risks and behavioural problems in children and teens.
Research suggests that children and adolescents often exhibit mindless eating behaviours while watching TV or engaging in video games, contributing to an increase in obesity rates within this age group. Additionally spending hours in front of screens decreases the physical or outdoor activities. There is wide gap between calories consumed and calories burned.
Takeaway,
Screen time recommendation from Indian Academy of Paediatrics for digital wellness in infants, children and adolescents.
For Children
• below 2 years of age, zero screen time
• 2 to 5 years of age, Limit screen time to a maximum of one hour (the lesser the better)
• 5 to 10 years of age, limit screen time to less than 2 hours per day
• 10 to 18 years of age, balance screen time with other activities essential for overall development

Should Children Be Allowed to Use Phones and Social Media?
What happens when a dry sponge meets water? It will absorb as much water as it can. Sometimes children are like a sponge: they will imitate the behavior of people around them or get information from the Internet and incorporate what they see into their lives. Due to the rapid development of the technological age, information on social media and the Internet is diverse. Moreover, in the past few years, there has been a significant increase in the number of children using mobile phones and social media. The data given by Jacqueline Howard in the article “What's the Age When Kids Start Social Media?” reflect the large number of children who own mobile phones and use social media: “The report found that, overall, 56% of the children had their own social media accounts, based on the parents’ survey responses. Among those children, the parents reported that the average age when initially signing up for the account was 12.6 years” (Howard). As a result, parents begin to worry about their children's use of technology and social media. The topic of whether or not children are allowed to use mobile phones and social media has attracted the attention of many parents and experts and generated different opinions. On the one hand, proponents believe that children should use social media to learn basic social and technical skills, to make friends with people around the world more easily, and to learn from their peers online. On the other hand, opponents believe that it would have a bad effect on children's mental health. Cyber bullying may occur and children may be unable to communicate better in real life. There are a number of pros and cons that come with using mobile phones and social media, and parental guidance can make a difference.
People who agree that children can use mobile phones and social media think they can better understand the latest technology and learn basic social skills. The Internet can broaden children's horizons, can help the children know current affairs new, and can help them obtain all sorts of newest knowledge and information. In later life, these children can do research themselves. Through the Internet, children can enrich their minds obtain learn a lot of knowledge that cannot be learned in school by teachers. In addition, they can use social media to communicate with others. Some children lack confidence and dare not talk and communicate with the outside world. Now with the Internet, these kids may overcome this psychological barrier and broaden their horizon in the process of this victual communication. Children can meet other people with the same interests, they can quickly make more friends through the topics they are interested in, and they can learn to build and maintain friendships and relationships. This can benefit for children. According to Ronaldo Tumbokon, “Social networks actually make kids more rela ...

Question: Should education be free for all?
Comments: This is an opinion question
Sample answer: Not for all, I would say.The reason is that government will have to collect more taxes from the taxpayers to allocate funds for free education. Besides, many people can afford the cost of education. Having said that, for the economically weaker section of the society, education can be made free or subsidized.

June 3, 2024 Anti-Semitism Letter Sent to MIT President Kornbluth and MIT Cor...Levi Shapiro
Letter from the Congress of the United States regarding Anti-Semitism sent June 3rd to MIT President Sally Kornbluth, MIT Corp Chair, Mark Gorenberg
Dear Dr. Kornbluth and Mr. Gorenberg,
The US House of Representatives is deeply concerned by ongoing and pervasive acts of antisemitic
harassment and intimidation at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). Failing to act decisively to ensure a safe learning environment for all students would be a grave dereliction of your responsibilities as President of MIT and Chair of the MIT Corporation.
This Congress will not stand idly by and allow an environment hostile to Jewish students to persist. The House believes that your institution is in violation of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, and the inability or
unwillingness to rectify this violation through action requires accountability.
Postsecondary education is a unique opportunity for students to learn and have their ideas and beliefs challenged. However, universities receiving hundreds of millions of federal funds annually have denied
students that opportunity and have been hijacked to become venues for the promotion of terrorism, antisemitic harassment and intimidation, unlawful encampments, and in some cases, assaults and riots.
The House of Representatives will not countenance the use of federal funds to indoctrinate students into hateful, antisemitic, anti-American supporters of terrorism. Investigations into campus antisemitism by the Committee on Education and the Workforce and the Committee on Ways and Means have been expanded into a Congress-wide probe across all relevant jurisdictions to address this national crisis. The undersigned Committees will conduct oversight into the use of federal funds at MIT and its learning environment under authorities granted to each Committee.
• The Committee on Education and the Workforce has been investigating your institution since December 7, 2023. The Committee has broad jurisdiction over postsecondary education, including its compliance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act, campus safety concerns over disruptions to the learning environment, and the awarding of federal student aid under the Higher Education Act.
• The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is investigating the sources of funding and other support flowing to groups espousing pro-Hamas propaganda and engaged in antisemitic harassment and intimidation of students. The Committee on Oversight and Accountability is the principal oversight committee of the US House of Representatives and has broad authority to investigate “any matter” at “any time” under House Rule X.
• The Committee on Ways and Means has been investigating several universities since November 15, 2023, when the Committee held a hearing entitled From Ivory Towers to Dark Corners: Investigating the Nexus Between Antisemitism, Tax-Exempt Universities, and Terror Financing. The Committee followed the hearing with letters to those institutions on January 10, 202
2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.
Operation “Blue Star” is the only event in the history of Independent India where the state went into war with its own people. Even after about 40 years it is not clear if it was culmination of states anger over people of the region, a political game of power or start of dictatorial chapter in the democratic setup.
The people of Punjab felt alienated from main stream due to denial of their just demands during a long democratic struggle since independence. As it happen all over the word, it led to militant struggle with great loss of lives of military, police and civilian personnel. Killing of Indira Gandhi and massacre of innocent Sikhs in Delhi and other India cities was also associated with this movement.

IELTS problem solution essay: with children play less
1. Problem
Nowadays, childten play less with one another and this has impact on
their development. What are the reasons for this? Does it have a good
or bad effect of children.
Children playing with each other has reduced recently and it's effects are bad on child development. I
shall outline underlying causes and remedial measures for the betterment of tiny tots lifestyle.
Since childhood to make situation easy and keep kids engaged parents let child watch tv or use phone.
But day by day digital world is drawing attraction of kid alot that they are prefering sit back home
avoiding playing outdoors with each other, use internet either by watching videos or playing games,
which is not good for kids physical health and growth.
Another vital reason to mention is that they are being raised with too much individualism where they
should be taught sharing, caring, winning, losing but still enjoying the moment. This may effect
sportsmanship, balanced thoughts and social life of kid.
It's essential to work out some practicable solutions in order to effectively address this issue. One of the
ways this can be done is that should be allowed to live their moment by shouting, running, falling, crying,
laughing, playing with other kids and explain such that they understand how they should behave rather
than engaging them with digital appliances.
Another solution could be to encourage them to involve in group activities like sports, social events, art
which would help in raising kids interest over playing or spending time with one another.
Thus the severity of bad effect of children playing less with one another should not be underestimated
and various timely measure can go a long way in resolving this problem.
