IRJET- Detection of Spoofing and Jamming Attacks in Wireless Smart Grid Netwo...IRJET Journal
This document discusses detecting spoofing and jamming attacks in wireless smart grid networks using RSS (Received Signal Strength) algorithms. It proposes a traffic analysis method using RSS to infer contextual information from jamming and spoofing attacks. The method relies only on packet transmission times and eavesdropper locations. It is intended as a baseline for evaluating protection mechanisms with different assumptions. RSS values are correlated with physical location and widely used in localization algorithms. The proposed system aims to reduce communication overhead and delay compared to existing approaches by limiting injected dummy traffic through constructing minimum connected dominating sets and shortest path trees.
This document lists 87 potential research topics related to wireless networking and sensor networks. The topics focus on areas like routing protocols, security, localization, caching, congestion control, and quality of service. Some examples of specific topics included are secure and energy-aware routing, intrusion detection, congestion avoidance, geographic routing, and trust management frameworks.

This document summarizes a field study of thermal comfort in a 22-story student residence with 445 suites and 715 residents. The study examined personal comfort parameters like clothing levels and activity levels through questionnaires. It also examined environmental parameters like air temperature, radiant temperature asymmetries, and indoor climate stratification in winter and summer. The results found that 29% experienced cold floors, 16% experienced high vertical air temperature differences, and some experienced radiant asymmetry and drafts. Overall, predicted and actual comfort indices were calculated and compared to the ASHRAE 55 comfort standard. The findings provide insights into occupants' dynamic thermal responses and the potential for an adaptive thermal comfort model.
This document describes a design project for the impulse stage of a steam turbine. The goal is to calculate the number of blades and their lengths needed to operate the impulse stage. Key calculations involve determining the blade velocity, angles of the steam, and dimensions of the blades. The results show the design meets criteria like the axial cord being less than the blade spacing and a loading factor below 3. The design was found to need 248 blades of 0.4696 inches axial cord length.
Suspensions can be classified based on their composition, properties, and evaluation methods. They consist of small particulate matter dispersed throughout a continuous phase. Sedimentation, rheological, electrokinetic, and micromeric methods are used to evaluate suspension stability over time based on properties like sedimentation volume, zeta potential, viscosity, and particle size distribution. Proper evaluation allows formulators to improve stability and compare products.
This document discusses different types of suspending agents used in pharmaceutical formulations. It classifies suspending agents into polysaccharides, inorganic salts, and synthetic compounds. Some examples of polysaccharides agents include acacia, tragacanth, and starches. Common inorganic salts are bentonite, aluminum magnesium silicate, and aluminum hydroxide. Synthetic agents include carbomers and colloidal silicon dioxide. Suspending agents help stabilize suspensions by increasing viscosity and slowing particle sedimentation according to Stokes' law. They prevent caking and can be resuspended with agitation.
Solutions to thermal comfort in multifamilyAngie Tennyson
The solution to thermal bridging in multifamily residence. Targeted to the Developer and Real Estate owner, this literature provides insight to the issues with concrete balconies and the solutions with Schock Isokorb.
The document analyzes thermal comfort data from 323 students aged 12-18 at a boarding school in Bogor, Indonesia from April 17-19, 2015. Temperatures ranged from 25.3-33.2°C and humidity from 62-98%. Linear regression analysis found the ASHRAE comfort standard of 29.02°C and BED4 standard of 28.91°C, while neutral preference was 27.2°C. Analysis of mean radiant temperature showed stronger correlation with comfort than analysis of humidity.
Extreme temperatures can endanger human health and infrastructure. Thermal comfort is defined as satisfaction with one's thermal environment, and is impacted by environmental and personal factors. Heat stress and cold stress can cause illnesses like heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and hypothermia. Hazards of temperature extremes should be identified and assessed using tools like wet bulb globe thermometers. Prevention strategies include controlling the work environment through ventilation, shielding, or modifying processes, as well as using protective clothing, safe work practices, and worker acclimatization.
The document summarizes recent advances in emulsion technology, including multiple emulsions, microemulsions, self-emulsifying drug delivery systems, and nanoemulsions. It discusses the introduction, advantages, methods of preparation, characterization, and applications of each type of emulsion system.
Thermal bridges in concrete construction solutions to address energy code co...RDH Building Science
This document discusses the significant thermal impact that uninsulated concrete slab edges and balconies can have on the effective R-value and energy performance of building walls. While balconies make up a small percentage of total wall area, their low R-value of around R-1 can reduce the overall wall R-value by 40-60%. This negatively impacts energy code compliance and increases heating and cooling loads. The document evaluates different solutions for insulating slab edges and balconies, such as structural cut-outs, insulation wraps, and manufactured thermal breaks. Thermal breaks in particular are shown to improve the overall wall R-value and help meet increasing energy code requirements.
The document summarizes research on thermal comfort conducted in Mayestik Market in Jakarta, Indonesia. It describes the market's renovation in 2012, existing conditions, data collection methods, and results of thermal votes and preferences. Fifty respondents provided data on gender, weight, age, height, air temperature, relative humidity, and air velocity. Thermal comfort models from ASHRAE and Bedford were applied, with comfort temperatures of 31°C and 29°C respectively. While air temperatures reached 30.5-35°C, most respondents felt neutral or comfortable, though 25 preferred cooler conditions and 24 saw no need for temperature change.

THERMAL COMFORT IN RESIDENTIAL BUILDINGS; A STUDY OF EFFECTIVENESS OF THE USE...DamilareOG
This study, “Thermal Comfort In Residential Buildings; A Study Of Effectiveness Of The Use Of Some Sun Shading Devices” examined the effectiveness of employing some sun shading devices in aiding attainment of thermal comfort in buildings.
The scope of this study is within the tropics of South Western Nigeria with residential housing units in randomly selected towns. Case studies were provided on some buildings and in-depth analysis was done on the effects (mostly thermal) these devices have on both the buildings and their occupants.
The research methodology for this study was done with meticulous analysis of the study area and the gathered data from questionnaires and interviews from respondents (selected at random).
Deductions and conclusions were made from this different analysis. The main deduction is that thermal comfort in these selected buildings was on a fairly satisfactory level. Improvements for higher thermal comfort levels were proposed in the recommendations.
This document discusses different methods of thermal comfort including convection, conduction, and radiation. It also discusses challenges with traditional HVAC systems and explores alternative approaches like circulating fans, local heating methods, and thermally active building surfaces. Additionally, it proposes some innovative ideas like using clothes or personal climate control systems to regulate temperature instead of focusing solely on conditioning indoor air.
Thermal comfort is affected by various factors like air temperature, radiant temperature, air speed, humidity, clothing insulation, and activity level. Conditions for thermal comfort include maintaining appropriate temperatures, humidity levels, and air speeds while avoiding issues like draughts and vertical temperature differences. The document discusses factors that impact thermal comfort and how to optimize it through design considerations.
SEDDS are isotropic mixtures of oils, surfactants and co-surfactants that emulsify spontaneously to form fine oil-in-water emulsions or microemulsions when introduced to aqueous fluids like those found in the GI tract. They are physically stable formulations that improve oral absorption of poorly water soluble drugs. SEDDS typically produce emulsions with droplets 100-300 nm while SMEDDS form transparent microemulsions with droplets under 50 nm. The choice of oils, surfactants and co-surfactants, along with their concentrations and ratios, impact self-emulsification properties. SEDDS can enhance bioavailability of BCS Class II drugs with low solubility and high permeability by maintaining
This document discusses the classification and selection of chemical reactors. It outlines the basic types of reactors including batch, continuous stirred-tank (CSTR), and plug flow reactors (PFR). Selection of reactors depends on factors such as the process type (batch, continuous, catalytic), phase (gas, liquid, solid), and required mass and heat transfer rates. For example, batch reactors are used for small batch production while CSTRs are common for liquid reactions requiring mixing. PFRs provide higher efficiency and are used when significant heat transfer is needed. Selection also considers whether the reaction involves single or multiple steps.
