The document discusses Accord accreditation through the International Engineering Alliance (IEA) and how it provides quality assurance and drives innovation in engineering education. It establishes a global standard for engineering education that facilitates engineering mobility and builds capacity for sustainable development. The Accords are a living agreement between signatories that promotes mutual understanding and recognition of engineering programs despite different cultural and legal environments through continuous relationship building. Ensuring diversity, managing risks from innovation, and adapting standards to emerging technologies and ethics are ongoing challenges to maintain quality while enabling change.
An APM webinar sponsored by the Scotland Branch on 28 September 2021.
Presenter: Andy Brown
As a result of significant turbulence in the industry since 2015, the engineering construction industry has recognised the need to collaborate for project efficiency. This webinar was held on 28 September 2021.
Working with industry partners, the ECITB has developed a guidance toolkit that supports the development of a collaborative project environment. The presentation will provide an overview of the Project Collaboration Toolkit, associated case studies that have demonstrated the value of collaboration and ongoing work to develop a collaborative working agreement that supports these behaviours.

Water billing management system project report.pdfKamal Acharya
Our project entitled “Water Billing Management System” aims is to generate Water bill with all the charges and penalty. Manual system that is employed is extremely laborious and quite inadequate. It only makes the process more difficult and hard.
The aim of our project is to develop a system that is meant to partially computerize the work performed in the Water Board like generating monthly Water bill, record of consuming unit of water, store record of the customer and previous unpaid record.

Hybrid optimization of pumped hydro system and solar- Engr. Abdul-Azeez.pdffxintegritypublishin
Advancements in technology unveil a myriad of electrical and electronic breakthroughs geared towards efficiently harnessing limited resources to meet human energy demands. The optimization of hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems plays a pivotal role in utilizing natural resources effectively. This initiative not only benefits humanity but also fosters environmental sustainability. The study investigated the design optimization of these hybrid systems, focusing on understanding solar radiation patterns, identifying geographical influences on solar radiation, formulating a mathematical model for system optimization, and determining the optimal configuration of PV panels and pumped hydro storage. Through a comparative analysis approach and eight weeks of data collection, the study addressed key research questions related to solar radiation patterns and optimal system design. The findings highlighted regions with heightened solar radiation levels, showcasing substantial potential for power generation and emphasizing the system's efficiency. Optimizing system design significantly boosted power generation, promoted renewable energy utilization, and enhanced energy storage capacity. The study underscored the benefits of optimizing hybrid solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems for sustainable energy usage. Optimizing the design of solar PV panels and pumped hydro energy supply systems as examined across diverse climatic conditions in a developing country, not only enhances power generation but also improves the integration of renewable energy sources and boosts energy storage capacities, particularly beneficial for less economically prosperous regions. Additionally, the study provides valuable insights for advancing energy research in economically viable areas. Recommendations included conducting site-specific assessments, utilizing advanced modeling tools, implementing regular maintenance protocols, and enhancing communication among system components.
HEAP SORT ILLUSTRATED WITH HEAPIFY, BUILD HEAP FOR DYNAMIC ARRAYS.
Heap sort is a comparison-based sorting technique based on Binary Heap data structure. It is similar to the selection sort where we first find the minimum element and place the minimum element at the beginning. Repeat the same process for the remaining elements.
Using recycled concrete aggregates (RCA) for pavements is crucial to achieving sustainability. Implementing RCA for new pavement can minimize carbon footprint, conserve natural resources, reduce harmful emissions, and lower life cycle costs. Compared to natural aggregate (NA), RCA pavement has fewer comprehensive studies and sustainability assessments.

The Accords are a living compact made by each signatory that they
will approach deliberations with confidence:
we can gain insight from our different cultural, socio-political and
legal environments.
we can find common ground and build a strong network from our
collective understanding.
we can negotiate, learn and transform in good faith as we create
the terms of our engagement.
The challenge for the Accords is to
consciously choose the power of mutual recognition and
the embedded diversity in our organisational DNA.
ensure that quality assurance tools are chosen carefully to
enhance, rather than undermine, this DNA diversity.
Principles underpinning the Accords
7. It is hard work
IEB Symposium Aug 2020
•7
It requires continuous maintenance and nurturing and close
interaction.
It can be easy to slip into actions derived from unintended,
subtle claims about ‘our way’ superiority.
To misunderstand across our language nuances in our haste
to make things happen.
To deploy ‘short-cut’ metrics, pro-formas, standards and other
tools that draw us away from the uncertainty and energy of
continuous relationship building and close interaction.
Accord accreditation: QA and innovation in engineering education
8. There are a number of reasons why mutual recognition
of substantial equivalence, although a hard route, adds
significant value to accreditation and enhances
international practice.
IEB Symposium Aug 2020
•8
Sociological, anthropological and ecosystem studies
suggest that diversity in our systems drives innovation
and capacity to meet complexity, disruption and
change.
Whenever a system is captured by one culture, by one
world view, or one intellectual tradition and iterates to
one metric (standard) of success, its capacity for
intellectual flexibility and agility is significantly reduced.

Accord accreditation: QA and innovation in engineering education

12. Accord accreditation: QA and innovation in engineering education
The terms quality assurance and risk management are often
used in association with outcomes-based accreditation:
• Quality assurance enables an organisation (or education
program in the accreditation context) to achieve its purpose.
• Risk management evaluates the effect of uncertainty on the
likely attainment of those objectives.
Drivers underpinning accreditation
IEB Symposium Aug 2020
•12
13. Accord accreditation: QA and innovation in engineering education
• Outcomes-based accreditation
allows innovation and change by
minimising the degree of prescription
of how the specified program
outcomes are to be attained.
• Genuine innovation may introduce significant risk profiles, especially in the
short term.
• A simple application of the outcomes-based approach may not be adequate
to manage the extremities of risky practices.
• Accreditation policies and procedures need to outline risk management
approaches.
• Effective risk management is essential to innovation and change
management.
