12. How to improve:
Through capitalizing on the experience of the existing collectors
and integrating them into an organized body supported by an
investment in advanced tools (e.g. trucks, bins and Recycling
facilities). This shall result into:
 A sustainable solution for waste management reducing the negative
impact on the environment.
 The development of the collectors community.

13. Tram network.
In service since 1910.
Established network is being removed starting 2015.

14. How to improve:
By investing in an upgrade of the existing network to provide a
reliable means of transportation with high quality service that
would attract more users. This shall result into:
 Reducing pollution as less petrol-powered vehicles will be used (lower
carbon footprint).
 A sustainable transportation network that shall help reduce
congestion in the city.

15. Examples of “Heliopolis style” architecture.
New architecture (towers) replacing
low-rise buildings.

16. How to improve:
By stopping the replacement of heritage buildings by new
towers, and through integrating the principles of the older
architectural style in the designs of new structures. This shall
result into:
 Reducing the use of climate control devices and electric light in
households that shall lower energy consumption.
 Eliminating the failure in utilities supply due to overload on the
existing infrastructure.
