2. INTRODUCTION
International Development Sector Resource (IDSR) is a consortium of world class

IDSR presents one day workshop on "Effective Procurement” at Mumbai, for the
benefit of finance, procurement and contracting professionals.
3. OBJECTIVES
• To enable participants to build the organizational
capability in managing procurement
• To empower participants to develop their
competency in the area of procurement
• To help participants to improve and strengthen
their knowledge and skills on procurement

awareness on funder/donor rules and regulations
regarding procurement

• Basics of procurement
• Types of procurement.
• Donor based procurement.
• Sole Source / Single source Procurement.
• Conflict of Interest and segregation of duties.
• Vendor database management
• Procurement processes from requisition to delivery.
• Types of Vendor agreement and rationale of various
clauses.

5. Resource Person
• Mr.Rohit Ratna (Director) Chartered Accountant and a Post Graduate in Management having
over 25 years of experience in the Development & Social Sector, Corporate Sector and Professional
Accounting and Consultancy Firms. Specialist in shared services operations
(Accounting, Finance, Administration, Procurement and IT), formulation and implementation of
policies and procedures, training and capacity building, financial analysis, project and grant
management. He has been associated with leading National and International Organizations in his
career in India and overseas viz. A.F.Ferguson& Co/Deloitte, KPMG, Emirates Airlines, World Health
Organization and most recently with Population Services International as Senior Director-
Administration & Finance. He is also actively involved in the education sector for the
underprivileged through his Trust i.e. ABC Foundation. He has a history of strong and successful
team building capabilities combined with excellent communication, presentation, and customer
service skills.
• Mr.Tarak Nath Shaw (Associate Director) Chartered Accountant and a Law Graduate having over
14 years of experience in Development & Social Sector. Specializes in Project Management, Micro
Finance, Financial Literary, Financial Management, Administration and Human Resource.Associated
with International Organizations in career viz. CARE, National Polio Surveillance Project – A joint
initiative of World Health Organization and Government of India. He has contributed to this sector
by capacity building of grass root level organizations, Civil Society Organizations and NGOs in area
of Grant management and reporting. He has a history of strong and successful team building
capabilities combined with excellent communication, presentation, and customer service skills. He
has the exposure to International Standards of Development related Project
Management, Implementation, Disaster and Emergency Management (Earthquake & Floods) and
Training. He is deft in project appraisal, evaluation, impact analysis, resource planning and

• Workshop Methodology: The methodology to be adopted in the
workshop includes interactive presentations, group exercises,
games, case studies, role plays and experience sharing by the
resource persons and participants.
• Workshop Fee (discounted specially for the development sector):
