As per 2011 census there are 2.68 crore differently
abled persons in the country. Assistive devices and
equipments can significantly help persons with disabilities
to become independent in daily activities. There are many
eminent technical educational institutions in India and
many are conducting research works for the development
of assistive technology for the differently abled. So an
extensive search was conducted to explore the assistive
technology related projects undertaken in India. Out of 137
studies retrieved 34 met the inclusion criteria. The result
shows that many researches are being carried out for the
development of assistive technology in India. Many of the
products are in the prototype stage or in the feasibility
stage. It emphasises the need for extensive field testing and
commercial production of the assistive technologies. Such
initiatives will lead to differently abled empowerment. The
authors put forward some suggestions in this regard.

Smart solution for reducing COVID-19 risk using internet of things

Dataset creation, training and recognizer are the basis of Face recognition system. Face recognition systems developed are acceptably effective with detection and identification of the objects. We aim to create an artificial intelligence which is integrated in an UAV for face recognition and surveillance. We also intend to introduce anti collision system on the A.I to help the drone be safer and prevent damages to itself and the surround. The same is based on sonar sensors which would measure the distance the between the drone and object. Once detected the drone will maneuver itself out of the trajectory of collision. A path finding algorithm is part of the A.I to help the drone navigate 2 dimensional maps on its own. by integration of both object detection and path finding we aim to create an automated drone capable of functioning without human intervention of any kind. Child Rescue System from Open Borewells
In present time, children fall in the Borewell due to the carelessness nature of the people in society. The currently available systems to save the child are less effective and costly too. Thus the society is in need of a new technique which is more efficient and effective. In most cases reported so far, a parallel hole is dug and then horizontal path is made to reach the child. It is not only a time taking process, but also risky in various ways. The borewell rescue system is capable of moving inside the same borewell where the child has been trapped and performs various actions to save the child. CCTV camera is used to continuously monitor the child's condition. This system has a high power LED which acts as a light source since light intensity inside the hole will be less. The advancement in the field of automation along with the mechanical design has a great impact on the society. This project includes series of process development from hand drawn sketches to computer generated design. The modern equipments are implemented for various parts of the system, since the system performs a life rescuing activity. The light weight servomotors are implemented for the system's operations. We will demonstrate the Galaxy services that deliver practical FAIR data analysis with “Single Sign-On” capability provided by ELIXIR-AAI. Child Rescue System from Open Borewells
In present time, children fall in the Borewell due to the carelessness nature of the people in society. The currently available systems to save the child are less effective and costly too. Thus the society is in need of a new technique which is more efficient and effective. In most cases reported so far, a parallel hole is dug and then horizontal path is made to reach the child. It is not only a time taking process, but also risky in various ways. The borewell rescue system is capable of moving inside the same borewell where the child has been trapped and performs various actions to save the child. CCTV camera is used to continuously monitor the child's condition. This system has a high power LED which acts as a light source since light intensity inside the hole will be less. The advancement in the field of automation along with the mechanical design has a great impact on the society. This project includes series of process development from hand drawn sketches to computer generated design. The modern equipments are implemented for various parts of the system, since the system performs a life rescuing activity. The light weight servomotors are implemented for the system's operations. Borewell rescue System is a human controlled computerized system embedded with additional safety devices. CINECA webinar slides: Practically FAIR
This webinar will focus on practical applications of the FAIR data principles, particularly in the context of clinical bioinformatics. We will highlight several example projects that have put the FAIR principles in practice, and discuss the advantages and some of the challenges involved. ELIXIR Galaxy community (elixir-europe.org/communities/galaxy) promotes the use of Galaxy projects that enhance the FAIRness in data analysis. We will demonstrate the Galaxy services that deliver practical FAIR data analysis with “Single Sign-On” capability provided by ELIXIR-AAI. The aim is to provide (medical) researchers with the practicalities of implementing and using FAIR principles in the context of the CINECA project as applied to translational research at Erasmus University Medical Center.
The “How FAIR are you” webinar series and hackathon aim at increasing and facilitating the uptake of FAIR approaches into software, training materials and cohort data, to facilitate responsible and ethical data and resource sharing and implementation of federated applications for data analysis.
The CINECA webinar series aims to discuss ways to address common challenges and share best practices in the field of cohort data analysis, as well as distribute CINECA project results. All CINECA webinars include an audience Q&A session during which attendees can ask questions and make suggestions. Please note that all webinars are recorded and available for posterior viewing.
