IPv6 adoption is accelerating due to growing challenges with IPv4 addresses and the increasing number of internet devices. Carrier grade NAT (CGN) solutions are being used to share public IPv4 addresses but negatively impact user experience. Cisco has expanded its partner ecosystem to include over 45 partners, including 4 new partners in Latin America, representing over 250 data centers globally. Cisco is committing $1 billion to cloud technologies and launching Intercloud Services bundles and a cloud aggregator program.

Conclusion
With IPv4 address pools rapidly disappearing and a federal mandate for government agency devices to begin shifting to IPv6-only and telecom 5G with IoT and edge devices, it’s clear that IPv6 is the future. Transitioning from IPv4 to IPv6 can be a challenge, so organizations may be interested to learn that switching to IPv6 has the potential to improve performance. In our testing without the Broadcom Offload feature, IPv6 delivered comparable performance to IPv4 on write workloads and better performance on read workloads while also reducing CPU utilization. When we enabled the Broadcom Offload feature on both IPv6 and IPv4, read workload performance increased dramatically and CPU utilization on both read and write workloads improved. Whether your organization is transitioning to IPv6 right away or choosing to delay the shift, this feature can boost performance on read workloads, which can improve the experience for users, reduce backup windows, and allow databases to load more quickly.

IPV6 Deployment for Broadband Internet by Azura Mat Salim
Telekom Malaysia (TM) has been deploying IPv6 since 2004 to prepare for IPv4 address exhaustion. In 2011, TM accelerated its IPv6 implementation by forming a steering committee and focusing on network infrastructure, operations, IT systems, products, and training. Currently, TM has over 100 IPv6 peering partners globally and provides dual-stack broadband Internet using PPPoE and DHCPv6 with delegated IPv6 prefixes. While IPv6 traffic is still less than 1% of TM's total traffic, the number of dual-stack subscribers is growing steadily as more users acquire IPv6-compatible devices. TM's deployment strategy is to push IPv6 configurations gradually without forcing migration and provide education to address common user misconceptions

CrowdStrike researchers have identified a HijackLoader (aka IDAT Loader) sample that employs sophisticated evasion techniques to enhance the complexity of the threat. In their analysis of a recent HijackLoader sample, CrowdStrike researchers discovered new techniques designed to increase the defense evasion capabilities of the loader. The malware developer used a standard process hollowing technique coupled with an additional trigger that was activated by the parent process writing to a pipe.
