Game Face 4:13 Training Academy is a strategic camp developed by Mrs. Ashanti Jackson that exists to develop basketball skills, academic excellence, and ethical character within young people in the Jacksonville community. To identify the areas where GameFace can offer its programs, we collected data from the Census, Florida Department of Juvenile Justice, Florida Department of Health, Duval County Public Schools, Food Deserts, and Churches with Food Banks. We performed Factor Analysis and Correlation Analysis on the gathered data. We utilized the statistical analysis results to create a geographic information systems decision tool using Tableau. Based on our analysis, we understand that youths are facing major issues in Duval County are Juvenile Arrests and Disciplinary Actions within schools. Zip Codes 32210, 32209, and 32208 have a higher number of all the issues analyzed. Game Face is on the right track to providing Physical, Mental, and Spiritual Training to youth in Duval County as these would help tackle these issues and create a positive impact on the lives of youth. We recommend Game Face collaborate with schools and churches in these communities to set up their training camp. We recommend Game Face gather data on youth involvement in training, leadership coaching, and healthy habits programs. We recommend Game Face to gather data related to student academic outcomes beyond Game Face training, such as college scholarships and high school graduations.

The rising international trend in the number of parents who separate or divorce is raising concerns about long-term consequences for child and youth well-being and adjustment to adulthood.
Separation and divorce may increase risks for negative outcomes in physical, mental, educational and psychosocial well-being during childhood and later, as youth transition to adulthood. Most children of separated and divorced families do not have significant or diagnosable impairments.
Most children and youth experience initial painful emotions including sadness, confusion, fear of abandonment, anger, guilt, grief, and conflicts related to loyalty and misconceptions. Although many children and youth of separating or divorcing parents experience distressing thoughts and emotions, the overwhelming majority do not experience serious outcomes. However, even small negative effects constitute a serious public health problem when multiplied by the millions of individuals who experience separation or divorce.
Due to the effect of the divorce on the kids, they tend to be stubborn and are wild and erratic in behavior which is usually harmful to the children. It affects their daily relationship, academics, and personal lives.
Divorce can increase the risk of mental health problems in children and adolescence. Regardless of age, gender, and culture, studies show children of divorced parents experience increased psychological problems. Divorce may trigger an adjustment disorder in children that resolves within a few months. But, studies have also found depression and anxiety rates are higher in children from divorced parents.
According to our research conducted, children of divorced parents scored significantly lower than children of continuously married parents on measures of academic achievement, conduct, psychological adjustment, self-concept, and social relations. More recent research continues to suggest an ongoing gap between children of divorced parents and continuously married parents. The negative impact of divorce can reach into adulthood and even later in adult married life, with potential increases in poverty, educational failure, risky sexual behavior, unplanned pregnancies, earlier marriage or cohabitation, marital discord, and divorce

The evaluation report I selected, the school success program: Improving maltreated children’s academic and school-related outcomes. I would present the results of the evaluation on maltreated children academic and school-related by first giving writing materials with data showing the percentage of academic of maltreated children. Present historical information on known facts of children of maltreatment struggling to being successful in school.
They need to know what types of maltreatment children are experiencing: physical, sexual, and psychological abuse. Children who experience different abuse have low school performance, mental health problems, use drugs, and staying in trouble in school. They are more likely to drop out of school, growing up being in and out of Jail. They are more likely to be held back a grade. They enter in school behind their peers. One sign of a children being maltreated is they have higher rate of being absent from school than children who are not maltreated. They are less motivated, engaged in their work, and lack good effective work habits (Mallett, 2012).
They need to know that maltreated children have been shown to increase their knowledge when they have a support system. Having help from children in the class room help them to become successful. I would show data where children have benefited from having tutors, mentors, and programs like Big Brother/Big Sister. The supportive program has been shown to improve the children academic. The programs are very effective in improved academic, behavior, and improvements with their parents, teachers, and peers (Mallett, 2012). Some questions that may be asked is: How to help the maltreated children focused on setting high goals for themselves? Do the maltreated children in the program continue to improve their life once they complete High School?

The results of the evaluation of the School Success Program showed improvement in academics for children who were victims of maltreatment. This program recognized that there is a correlation between poor school performance of children who were maltreated. The School Success Program assists maltreated youth in school with tutoring and mentoring by certified teachers (Mallett, 2012). This program recognized that children who are maltreated have learning difficulties in school. Providing assistance to maltreated children with tutoring and mentoring increased their performance in school. “Program participants have shown one-year improvements that are significant when compared with those of their non maltreated peers: Basic reading and comprehension skills improved 58 percent; math reasoning and comprehension skills improved 50 percent; basic writing skills improved 48 percent; and overall academic skills improved 51 percent” (Mallett, 2012, p.13). These results were noted from both genders and with minorities, especially males.
Background Information and the Key Message
Background information that I would need to present to show that this program is successful and should be implemented elsewhere, is to show the results of identified maltreated children without intervention and to compare the results to maltreated children with interventions. I would show graphs and data to compare the results and the increased improvement of the interventions is significant. I could provide results of a single research study to show how the intervention improved academic performance which is significant. Also, using results of past research studies. Physical abuse and neglect have been shown to have negative results on school performance. Showing how the tutoring and mentoring program improved academic performance is significant.

Strategies to meet my colleagues’ interests and goals would be to utilize surveys to learn about concerns that my colleagues may have about poor academic performance. If the goal is to reach this population early to produce better results in school performance, the program that is yielding strong results should be implemented.

Questions colleagues might have about the program is how do we reach the intended population? How do we implement the program and maintaining the fidelity of the program that yields the intended results? What skills and trainings do the tutors and mentors need to possess. Data analytics offers a wide variety of opportunities across all industries enabling improvements in all business operations. Data analytics adoption has several associated complexities making it cumbersome and challenging for organizations. In particular, small and medium businesses (SMB) and nonprofit organizations lag behind data analytics adoption, even though they are crucial for the economy and would benefit most from data-driven decisions. This paper aims to identify factors that influence data analytics adoption by organizations. We conduct a systematic literature review to identify articles relevant to data analytics adoption studies performed using survey methodology. We synthesize literature review results to propose a research model to investigate data analytics adoption in small & medium businesses and nonprofit organizations. The proposed research model was developed primarily based on Technology Organization Environment (TOE) framework, combined with other factors relevant to data analytics adoption found in the literature. The research model investigates the influences of data analytics, organization, and environment characteristics on data analytics adoption by SMBs and nonprofits. Boosted Tree model (with a misclassification rate of 0.22) identified zip code, age, and voter status are key factors that influence voter participation. Based on voter eligibility and total vote counts in each general election held between 2014 and 2020, voters were classi-fied into the following profile categories: always-voted (participated in all elec-tions), increasing-in-voting (participated in recent elections but not in the past elections), intermittent-in-voting (participated in some elections but not all), de-creasing-in-voting (participated past elections but not recently), never-voted (didn’t participate in the elections), and not-eligible (registered but under 18 years of age). Voter profile counts information was merged with Census demo-graphic information at the zip code level. To find insights into the voter profiles, we created Tableau dashboards to view voter profiles, voting methods, and the effect of census variables on voter turnout at the zip code level. We hope this dashboard helps organizations like the League of Women Voters of Florida target their voter participation and engagement activities at the zip code level.
A Systematic Review of Affordable Homeownership using Data Science Methods
Interest in the global unaffordable housing dilemma is manifest in its growing publications. However, there is a limited systematic review of the literature concerning data science approaches to address the social issues of owning affordable homes through Housing and Urban Development (HUD) programs. The systematic literature review was performed using Google Scholar and followed the phases prescribed in the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA). This study synthesizes data sources, tools, analytical approaches, and theoretical frameworks from the literature on affordable housing issues using data science methods. Our findings indicate that researchers have approached the issue completely differently from each other, with census data and usage of mapping visualizations as being a common trend.

The evaluation report I selected, the school success program: Improving maltreated children’s academic and school-related outcomes. I would present the results of the evaluation on maltreated children academic and school-related by first giving writing materials with data showing the percentage of academic of maltreated children. Present historical information on known facts of children of maltreatment struggling to being successful in school.
They need to know what types of maltreatment children are experiencing: physical, sexual, and psychological abuse. Children who experience different abuse have low school performance, mental health problems, use drugs, and staying in trouble in school. They are more likely to drop out of school, growing up being in and out of Jail. They are more likely to be held back a grade. They enter in school behind their peers. One sign of a children being maltreated is they have higher rate of being absent from school than children who are not maltreated. They are less motivated, engaged in their work, and lack good effective work habits (Mallett, 2012).
They need to know that maltreated children have been shown to increase their knowledge when they have a support system. Having help from children in the class room help them to become successful. I would show data where children have benefited from having tutors, mentors, and programs like Big Brother/Big Sister. The supportive program has been shown to improve the children academic. The programs are very effective in improved academic, behavior, and improvements with their parents, teachers, and peers (Mallett, 2012). Some questions that may be asked is: How to help the maltreated children focused on setting high goals for themselves? Do the maltreated children in the program continue to improve their life once they complete High School?

The results of the evaluation of the School Success Program showed improvement in academics for children who were victims of maltreatment. This program recognized that there is a correlation between poor school performance of children who were maltreated. The School Success Program assists maltreated youth in school with tutoring and mentoring by certified teachers (Mallett, 2012). This program recognized that children who are maltreated have learning difficulties in school. Providing assistance to maltreated children with tutoring and mentoring increased their performance in school. “Program participants have shown one-year improvements that are significant when compared with those of their non maltreated peers: Basic reading and comprehension skills improved 58 percent; math reasoning and comprehension skills improved 50 percent; basic writing skills improved 48 percent; and overall academic skills improved 51 percent” (Mallett, 2012, p.13). These results were noted from both genders and with minorities, especially males.
Background Information and the Key Message
Background information that I would need to present to show that this program is successful and should be implemented elsewhere, is to show the results of identified maltreated children without intervention and to compare the results to maltreated children with interventions. I would show graphs and data to compare the results and the increased improvement of the interventions is significant. I could provide results of a single research study to show how the intervention improved academic performance which is significant. Also, using results of past research studies. Physical abuse and neglect have been shown to have negative results on school performance. Showing how the tutoring and mentoring program improved academic performance is significant.

Data analytics offers a wide variety of opportunities across all industries enabling improvements in all business operations. Data analytics adoption has several associated complexities making it cumbersome and challenging for organizations. In particular, small and medium businesses (SMB) and nonprofit organizations lag behind data analytics adoption, even though they are crucial for the economy and would benefit most from data-driven decisions. This paper aims to identify factors that influence data analytics adoption by organizations. We conduct a systematic literature review to identify articles relevant to data analytics adoption studies performed using survey methodology. We synthesize literature review results to propose a research model to investigate data analytics adoption in small & medium businesses and nonprofit organizations. The proposed research model was developed primarily based on Technology Organization Environment (TOE) framework, combined with other factors relevant to data analytics adoption found in the literature. The research model investigates the influences of data analytics, organization, and environment characteristics on data analytics adoption by SMBs and nonprofits. We hope that further progress with this research will provide insights into helping SMBs and nonprofits adopt data analytics technologies.Finding Insights in Florida Voter Participation

Several data preparation issues were resolved during the data merging process, including exact duplicates, multiple associated vote types, and misclassified vote types. The merged data consisted of the following columns: voter ID, registration county code, zip code, sex, ethnicity, age, [2012 to 2020] vote type, [2012 to 2020] voting indicator, and [2012 to 2020] county code. As it is computationally intensive to process data of entire Florida voters, county-wise data were merged into associated metropolitan, micropolitan, and rural areas (MSA). Based on voter eligibility and total vote counts on each general election held between 2012 and 2020, voters were classified into the following profile categories: always-voted (participated in all elections), increasing-in-voting (participated in recent elections but not in the past elections), intermittent-in-voting (participated in some elections but not all), decreasing-in-voting (participated past elections but not recently), never-voted (didn’t participate in the elections), and not-eligible (registered but under 18 years of age). Our analysis indicates that there is a considerable number of never-voted individuals regardless of MSA regions. Profile analysis reveals that metropolitan and micropolitan regions tend to have more individuals categorized as increasing-in-voting than always-voted. In contrast, rural regions tend to have more individuals categorized as always-voted than increasing-in-voting.

The objective of this paper is to describe the methods used to develop geographic information systems (GIS) dashboard tool and explain how it can assist nonprofit hospitals to identify priority neighborhoods. Multiple data sources from the 500 Cities Project databases were analyzed, and two online dashboards were created. The first dashboard is a hospital-specific composite dashboard, and the second is a comparison dashboard of health outcomes identified by both the hospital and the county’s community health needs assessment focused on neighborhood-level disparities. Hospital-specific health outcomes were Stroke, Diabetes, and Coronary Heart Disease. County-specific health outcomes were Obesity, Dental, and Mental Health. All of the six health outcomes were standardized, rescaled, and weighted within the final composite score. Tableau was used for developing the dashboards and geographically mapping the analyzed data. The maps were developed specifically for a large hospital in Florida; however, this methodology can be utilized by other hospitals across the US. City-specific data is essential to ensure the accuracy of community health needs. The development of an interactive, comprehensive map using Tableau is a useful tool for visualizing target neighborhoods for community health outreach. This talk will introduce the triad model, and describe how it was implemented at the College of Computing at the University of North Florida under the Data Science for the Social Good (DSSG) umbrella. The talk will describe the challenges faced, how they were addressed, and the solutions developed in response. The triad model and the outcomes from the model will be demonstrated with example implementations from a capstone that leads to students producing software and other artifacts incorporating data science techniques in response to important societal problems. Security and User Experience: A Holistic Model for CAPTCHA Usability Issues
CAPTCHA is a widely adopted security measure on the Web and is designed to effectively distinguish humans and bots by exploiting human’s ability to recognize patterns that an automated bot is incapable of. To counter this, bots are being designed to recognize patterns in CAPTCHAs. As a result, CAPTCHAs are now being designed to maximize the difficulty for bots to pass human interaction proof tests, while making it quite an arduous task even for humans as well. The approachability of CAPTCHA is increasingly being questioned because of the inconvenience it causes to legitimate users. Irrespective of the popularity, CAPTCHA is indispensable if one wants to avoid potential security threats. We investigated the usability issues associated with CAPTCHA. We built a holistic model by identifying the important concepts associated with CAPTCHAs and its usability. This model can be used as a guide for the design and evaluation of CAPTCHAs.

Florida Data Science for Social Good (FL-DSSG) Big Reveal event was held on August 7 (Monday) from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Nonprofit Center (40 E Adams St., Jacksonville). At the event, FL-DSSG interns presented findings and revealed insights gained from the Mayo Clinic, Changing Homelessness, and Yoga 4 Change projects.

A Research Plan to Study Impact of a Collaborative Web Search Tool on Novice'...Karthikeyan Umapathy
In the past decade, research efforts dedicated to studying the process of collaborative web search have been on the rise. Yet, limited number of studies have examined the impact of collaborative information search process on novice’s query behaviors. Studying and analyzing factors that influence web search behaviors, specifically users’ patterns of queries when using collaborative search systems can help with making query suggestions for group users. Improvements in user query behaviors and system query suggestions help in reducing search time and increasing query success rates for novices. In this paper, we present an empirical study plan designed to investigate the influence of collaboration between experts and novices as well as use of a collaborative web search tool on novice’s query behavior. In this research-in-progress study, we intend to use SearchTeam as our collaborative search tool. The results of this study are expected to provide information that could help collaborative web search tool designers to find ways to improve the query suggestions feature for group users. Additionally, this study will test the hypothesis that – having domain experts working with non-experts using collaborative search systems would immensely increase the query success rates for non-expert users, and help them learn querying strategies over the course of time. If the above hypothesis is proven, then use of collaborative web search tools during training of interns would be highly recommended.UNF Computing Senior Capstone Project

We can minimize the carbon footprint but we can also have a carbon handprint, a positive impact on the climate. Quality characteristics can be added with sustainability, and then measured continuously. Test environments can be used less, and in smaller scale and on demand. Test techniques can be used in optimizing or minimizing number of tests. Test automation can be used to speed up testing.

Health related issues were found to be on the higher end in case of zip codes 32209 and 32210 whereas disciplinary action related issues were found to be higher in zip codes 32210 and 32218. Collaboration with schools in these areas and churches is highly recommended. We recommend GameFace to collaborate with schools that have lack of mental health and wellness related programs. We suggest GameFace to gather data on youth involvement, engagement, and retention as well as impact on students beyond GameFace. Identifying Communities with Opportunities for Positive Youth Development GameFace 4:13 Training Academy seeks to be a place that transforms the prime time for juvenile crime into productive development spaces. The social problem that GameFace addresses are (1) lack of physical health, mentorship, and coaching for youths who are not getting enough exercise (2) lack of educational funding for families due to poverty or single-parent homes, and (3) lack of character development and morality/integrity/ethics in youth. To identify the areas where there is a need to bring a change in the areas of character development, maintaining physical as well as mental health, create interest in academics, controlling the crime rate among youth population in Duval County so that GameFace can make an impact by offering trainings in the field of Physical ,Mental and Spiritual development. GameFace works on closing the gap in these areas among youth population and works toward betterment of youth population and society. Youth who join GameFace trainings are more likely to attend college, get good grade in the exams, stay away from the bad influence, develop positive attitudes, develop healthy lifestyle, take leadership roles, have higher self-esteem, maintain good mental health, handle stress easily and develop good character. We worked on creating a GIS based decision tool. We performed Factor Analysis and Correlation Analysis. A C K N O W L E D G E M E N T This project work was completed as a part of the 2022 Florida Data Science for Social Good (FL-DSSG) program. FIS Computing Distinguished Professorship Award sponsored the 2022 FL-DSSG Summer Internship program. We are grateful to several FL-DSSG faculty leads and industry mentors who advised and guided us to achieve the project outcomes. Minakshi Sharma I N T R O D U C T I O N To identify the areas where GameFace can offer their programs, we collected data from census, Florida dept. of juvenile justice, Florida Dept. of Health, Duval county public schools, churches with food banks and Food Deserts and performed statistical analysis and created dashboards on tableau. Stressed Neighborhood Major issues in Duval county are juvenile arrests, disciplinary actions in the schools, and health issues. For juvenile arrests, we have selected offences related to felony, weapon related which correlates with the stressed neighborhood. In case of disciplinary action, we have selected type of incidents, fighting and in case of health data, we have selected deaths due to hypertension as it relates more with the stressed neighborhood. As displayed in the map, these issues have high intensity in the zip codes with the darker shades. We can see that the zip codes 32208,32209 , 32210 are popping up in all the three different kinds of maps. Disciplinary related issues in the school e.g., fighting etc., are happening more in the zip code 32210. Some of the schools in this zip codes didn’t have mental health related programs and wellness student clubs for the students.
