This document summarizes a study that used X-ray crystallography and resonance Raman spectroscopy to characterize the oxo-molybdenum dithiolene complex (Tp*)MoO(qdt), which is a model system relevant to pyranopterin molybdenum enzyme active sites like sulfite oxidase. The compound was found to crystallize in the triclinic space group P1. Structural parameters of the first coordination sphere were similar to the related complex (Tp*)MoO(bdt), suggesting geometric effects are not major contributors to electronic structural differences between the two complexes.
