The Michael and Cecilia Ibru Foundation (MCF) was recently honored for its humanitarian and educational contributions to the students of Nigeria. Last December, the National Association of South-South Students (NASS) presented an award of academic excellence to the Ibrus for their ongoing efforts to establish the Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, College of Education, and International School.

award of academic excellence to the Ibrus
for their ongoing efforts to establish the
Michael and Cecilia Ibru University, College
of Education, and International School.

3.  In presenting the award, NASS president
Comrade Amadi Destiny Obaro noted
that running an educational facility is a
difficult but incredibly beneficial
enterprise. It is through education, he
said, that society is transformed for the
good, because it shapes the children
who eventually grow into tomorrow’s
leaders of Nigeria.

4.  Cecilia Ibru was on hand at the ceremony
to accept the award. In her comments, she
mentioned that attendance at MCF
schools has grown to more than 100
students, who enjoy an international-
standard education in a modern facility.
Mrs. Ibru also highlighted the rich diversity of
Nigerian culture and noted special efforts
to keep students aware of and interested in
indigenous Nigerian languages.
