This document discusses three concepts for improving indoor air quality (IAQ) in workspaces:
1. UV Solutions - Using ultraviolet (UV) lamps to kill microbes like viruses, bacteria, and fungi through DNA damage. The CDC recommends UV for destroying pathogens like tuberculosis.
2. PHI Cells - Exposing activated oxygen to a catalyst and UV light to generate "friendly oxidizers" like hydroperoxides that break down both airborne and surface microbes and VOCs.
3. Merv 13 Filters - High efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters that remove a high percentage of airborne contaminants, used in hospitals but not recommended for homes due to restricted airflow.
