3. UV-SOLUTIONs
Ultra Violet Germicidal irradiation ( UVGI ) is the
use of ultra violet energy to kill or inactivate
microbes ( Viral bacterial and Fungal Species )
UV energy attacks the DNA of living cell,
penetrating the cell membrane, breaking the
DNA structure of the Micro – organism, inhibiting
reproduction, UV is effective is destroying
biological contaminant and odors such as mold,
bacterial and viruses.
The center for disease control ( CDC)
recommends the methods for destroying viruses
such as tuberculosis
UV Lamp Produces the same UV wave length the
sun produces.
UVC ( Germicidal 254nm) and UVV ( Oxidizing
187nm) are produced quartz glass
4. UV-SOLUTIONs
This UCGI ( Ultra Violet Germicidal Irradiation )
system is installed in Air Handling Units of HVAC
Usual Problems Encountered
Increasing Electrical Consumption
Deteriorating Indoor Air Quality ( IAQ )
Increase Operation and Maintenance Cost
Improved cleanliness, Eliminated
Maintenance and cleaning of cooling coils
Helps in Following Ways
Energy Saving
Improved Indoor Air Quality
Reduced Operation and Maintenece Cost
Increase coil Life
8. PHI
PHI occurs by exposing activated oxygen molecules to a hydrated
catalyst containing four unique metals and a 100-380 nm UV light.
Friendly Oxidizers are:
• Hydro-Peroxides
• Hydroxides
• Super Oxide Ions
These friendly are very effective in breaking down both airborne
and surface borne microbes as well VOC’s and Odor in the
conditioned space
• Oxidizing Agent – Properties of Virucidal, Germicidal, Antiseptic,
Disinfecting & Deodorizing
• It is a naturally occurring substance
• Used in medical community for over 170 years for disinfection
purpose
• Considered as safest oxidizer

10. MERV 13 Filters
MERV stands for Minimum Efficiency Reporting
Value. It is a measure of the efficiency of the air
filter (the amount of airborne pollutants it
removes). The MERV rating helps you determine
which air filter you should use for your home air
filter.
In general, air filters with higher MERV ratings
remove a higher percentage of airborne
contaminants, therefore improving your indoor air
quality.
Filters in this category are used in hospitals and
clean rooms, where airborne contaminants must be
almost completely eliminated. These are not
recommended for residential use as they restrict
airflow and can damage your heating and cooling
system.
