For optimum performance place purifier 5 to 6 feet off the floor (i.e. china hutch, bookshelf, wall unit, etc.). If you have a multi story house the unit will perform better on the top level, it will work anywhere but will be most effective; the higher the better. 3. SETTING YOUR CONTROLS: Since every environment is different and every individual is different, DO NOT pay attention to the square footage for setting your controls. The best way to reach the crisp, fresh, clean air level for you and your family is to pay attention to what your nose is telling you. Remember, FreshAir electronically reproduces fresh air.
