The students took measurements of water temperature from a factory river out to the sea using a robot. The highest temperature measured in the river was 25°C, while the air temperature was only 12°C. When remeasuring, they found the same results, confirming the measurements. Further measurements in the open sea found some areas of water as hot as 50-60°C, which fishermen explained was from underground hot springs. Analysis showed the ecosystem has adapted to the warmer temperatures in some areas, while fish near the river indicate no pollution problem.
