The Past Never Let’s Go…
Presents

Our Pitch- “Hunted”
Our Main Idea for Our Opening…
• Our main idea for our opening of the film is that it starts of with being
based around a little girl and the this unknown past. Through out the
opening- when the girl is skipping or walking to her mothers grave with
flowers in hand and a teddy by her side- there will be flash backs where
the little girl is running through trees (forest), this may cause slight
confusion with the audience but that will turn to concern as well as
interest towards this little girl... The little girl- Jane Doe, the name for a
person with no identity- with this we are aiming create mystery and
that unknown danger… giving the audience a mix of emotions that they
start to question. The little girl isn’t going to be the only ‘character’- this
unknown ‘danger’ feel we are trying to create will be enhanced when
our antagonist is seen for the first time though not clearly. A slightly
blurred figure of a man standing in the background watching the little
girl at the grave yard, dressed in a sharp black suit- red tie- shows the
audience this man is powerful and dangerous.
• This is where our message of ‘The Past Never Lets Go’…The Audience
will start to question this little girls past and what really happened?
The Beginning, Middle and End…
This will be where our film starts of
being a little girl called with only
showing her feet as she is walking
dressed in a pretty little dress with a
little smudge of mud holding flowers and
a teddy bear to bring to her mothers
grave...talking to her self or singing an
old nursery rhyme (this will be a glue as
too how out of place/time she really is)
as she is waling towards her mothers
grave there will be flashbacks of her
running from something- these
flashbacks will be of past events that the
audience will be unaware though her
dress will have changed to a much older
fashion. when she gets to her mothers
grave, out of the corner of her eye she
notices a blurred figure in a suit
watching her…her body language
changes- showing the audience that she
knows this man and is frightened…the
opening will end in a flash back with the
girl screaming “DADDY…”
(The audience here will begin to realize
that this little girl is in fact dead but stuck
in this ‘in between’ state until her father
lets her go) The middle of our film will
consists of her meeting a family who are
living in the house that her mother was
murdered in… she tries to warn the family
that her father doesn’t like anyone living in
his house but they cant hear her or notice
her…this is until the one of the children of
this family has an accident that nearly
killed him because of this he now has the
ability to see things that he wasn’t able to
before…things such as this little girl who is
trying to warn him and his family that her
father when he finds out his house is being
lived in by strangers then he will come and
murder every one. Now that this boy can
communicate with the little girl he tries to
help her and his family
The Ending of our horror film will then
include where we find out the secrets of
the past- What really happened that
night the little girls mother died? With
Time running out and the father getting
more and more powerful the little girl is
trying her best to help this family…even
at the cost of her soul being claimed by
her father. Eventually just when the little
girl makes the deal with her father to let
the family live…all she wants is too find
her mother and save this family. The Boy
discovers the gruesome secrets of her
fathers past and what led to the
murders… but will this stop the father
from repeating past events and freeing
the little girl to go and find her mother in
the promised afterlife?
What Was Our Inspiration?
• When looking at our ideas for our horror film, we mainly came up with
ideas that revolved around the paranormal and then focused on the
image of a little girl.
• When looking at other films that come under the paranormal horror
genre we came across the ‘The Conjuring’ and ‘Mama’.
• With The Conjuring, we though of having the antagonist as an evil
spirt… In Mama, there are two young children with a strong bond with
their ‘mother figure’ which is actually the misunderstood yet ‘evil
spirit’ changing this to fit our idea we decided the ‘evil spirit’ to be
that of the little girls father.
Our Horror Location…
Tydd St Giles
WHY? The Church/Graveyard
Our Horror Location…
Planned Trees/Flashback Scene Location WHY?
The Characters Within our Opening…
In our opening of our horror film, the characters that are included is a little girl and a man however
throughout the Opening they are unknown and no names are given… Until a possible little hint at the end…
Our Little Girl Character…
For the audience the little girl is known as
Jane Doe…Jane Doe is the name for an
unknown person which in its self gives this
character an identity but at the same time
doesn’t…In the flash backs we have
decided to have the girl wear an old era
knighting gale look, with bare muddy feet.
This would connote that something has
happened to her however the audience
doesn’t know this. The audience would only
have the idea of going through the
graveyard whilst flash backs are being
shown to the audience…
This is what we would like our Little Girl to
look like:
Our Male Character:
In the opeining the audience
will only ever really see what
he is wearing…though we will
use an effect that makes him
slightly blurred.
The Male will be dressed in a
business type of suit with a
red tie this was needed to be
used so the audience can be
seen as being a powerful yet
dangerous character and has
something to do with this
little girl, but this is left for the
audience to work out…
Our Little Girl’s Costume Analysis…
Our Initial Male’s Costume Idea…
Our Target Audience we Plan to aim this at…
From Looking at the data that we collected we can see
that we should be aiming towards 15 – 18 ages as
many of our responses stated that they are the ages
that Paranormal Films are more suitable for. This is
due to the ‘maturity’ that this age group should have
and the knowledge that what they see in the movies is
from imagination and not reality. However, when
reading these responses there was a shock, this was
because most of the people who answered didn't
really like horror or don't watch Paranormal horrors
often. So using these it was hard for us to think about
who our target audience was going to be. In the end
we have decided our target audience will be 15-18+
however the movie its self will be a rating of 15 as
there will be elements that wont be suitable for
children- i.e. scenes that may be distressing with blood
and little violence (the murders in possible flash backs
throughout the movie)
Our Target Audience we Plan to aim this at…
Distribution…
• When looking at how we want to distribute our film/ opening, we decided to
choose the:
INTERNET/SOCIAL SITES.
This was because on the internet there is a much wider audience, we would
know that our film will be distributed on a wide scale and also it allows the
opportunity for the people to leave comments on their opinion of the film.
As the film is made by our independent production company it allows us a
better opportunity in showing our film to everyone. Statistics say that ‘In Great
Britain, 21 million households (83%) had Internet access in 2013’ (Office for national
statistics)
