PROJECTS AND RESEARCH
Tracheotomy Surgical Simulation Project – Integration and Mobile Development Team Fall 2012
Main goal was to create a low cost Android app to train user to better perform tracheotomy operation.
Implement an Android app that communicated with sensors over Bluetooth via Open Data Kit framework.
Integrated hardware sensors to an Arduino and stabilized Bluetooth connections.
Bioaccelerator Research Project – Hardware Team Fall 2011
Main goal was to create a genome alignment system that efficiently map short reads to reference genome.
Implemented functionality on Pico M501 and M503 board using Xilinx ISE13.
Optimized performance of hardware system using C-Slow.
INTERNSHIP
Software Engineering at Indeed Inc. Summer 2012
Added a feature to import a resume via Facebook using OAuth authentication and Facebook graph API.
Implemented a resume creation wizard using JavaScript, Google Closure Library and Ajax.
Implemented a resume data index that captured terms in all resumes for evaluating the quality of resumes.
ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE
Software
CSE403: Software Engineering – ChangeMyMood, a Client/Server Android Mobile App Fall 2012
A mobile app that attempted to change the mood of the user using media content such as images and videos.
The app utilizes an android client side with a Django Piston server side which talks to a postgresql database.
CSE312: Foundations of Computing II – Programmed an EM algorithm in Java with GUI Fall 2011
Programed an expectation-maximization algorithm in java which supported different initialization/termination
approaches and variable amount of clusters.
A GUI was implemented in java which displayed the distributions in both graphical and numerical representations.
Hardware
CSE471: Advanced Computer Architecture – Building a MESI Cache Coherence Protocol Spring 2012
Designed and implemented a 4-state cache coherence protocol with MultiCacheSim (in C++).
Evaluated performance between MESI and MSI protocols by running PARSEC benchmarks.
EE478: Embedded Systems Capstone – Designing a Mini, Portable, Wireless Drum Set Fall 2011
Designed and built a portable wireless drum set using Arduino, xbee and various sensors.
Built a sound synthesizer circuit to allow up to four different instrumental sound at one time.
Utilized several peripherals such as timer, advance interrupt controller, UART, etc.
