Slides to a talk I gave at Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars. In this talk I look at how digital age technologies, like social media, are revolutionizing the way humanitarian response will be conducted in the future. I explore the role of technology and information sharing in humanitarian response and look at how crowdsourcing, mass collaboration, volunteer & technical community self-organization, and "information to the edge" will push totally new approaches into this space. - And remember that the organizations doing humanitarian work today are not going to change by themselves - it is through you that this change must happen and hopefully that leads to at least some of the organizations to start thinking in new terms.
