Human Resource Management involves the recruitment, selection, training, and development of employees. The recruitment process identifies job vacancies and notifies potential candidates. Selection involves assessing applicants and appointing a candidate. Employment legislation regulates many aspects of managing employees, such as prohibiting discrimination based on race or gender. Organizations also focus on disciplining and rewarding employees, as well as building relationships with trade unions, in order to improve productivity.
