Most likely, employers will face cultural differences with Filipino Workers. What’s normal for them are not normal for us. Sometimes, both parties find it difficult to adjust seeing as culture is deeply ingrained in us.
Avoid embarrassing- who wants this? Usually Filipinos doesn’t want to admit that they can’t do a job, so doing this in front of their colleagues is basically saying that they’re incompetent. That’s a direct hit to pride.
Directly- sensitive, be careful what you say
Guerrilla fighters- if pushed past the breaking point, Filipinos won’t stay down. Who wouldn’t? They can fight back like a pro – fist fights and verbal. Better be kept as an ally than as an enemy. Bigay todo, kala mo makikipag- patayan kung lumaban.
Cheap- foreigners have a connotation na since mura lang yung bayad sa atin, our works quality is cheap as well. Their normal wage is different from ours, malaki na sa atin yun. Some Filipinos, actually gives off this expression because…
Excuses- usually causes headache, bad image and tendency to get fried from the employer
Slow internet and workplace- not all Filipinos have their own internet connection at home or workplace, some sa computer shops nagwo- work
Updates- sometimes filipino doesn’t give updates at per request of their employee (me too). Employers have to ask first kasi hindi tayo nagkukusa to give one xD
Calamities- brown outs, family before career first, no internet, distracted
Lazy- some filipinos are lazy, some goody two shoes. They revealed that sometimes yung ibang Filipino’s are actually just too lazy to do things kaya kung ano anong excuses yung binibigay nila.
Time zones- umaga at gabi
Since they’re actually related to one another, pinagsama- sama ko nalang sila. Same lang naman kasi yung way to deal with them. Simple lang: be understanding.
Time & Money- despite the complaints and headaches, most employers still find Filipino workers worth their time and money because despite being “lazy” and “cheap”, our work isn’t. Our diligence also makes up for it. Enough, that most employers asks us to stay.
are alphabets are basically the English alphabet, so we’re quick to pick up the English language
Filipinos have high regard for their boss, thus the “ma’am” and “sirs”
kahit mahirap yung trabaho, basta worth it yung sahod, titiisin ng mga Filipinos yan
Taga- linis xD Pag- malinis yung paligid, most likely mas good mood daw ang mga Pinoy to work with.
Chill- due to a lot of calamities, we quickly adapt to danger and most likely have the most clear/ level head during a crisis
Entertainers- kenkoy talaga tayo eh
OT- good quality pala ito. Sa paningin ng mga boss, ang sisipag natin, yung totoo yung OT payment yung habol natin. Jk. XD
Diversity
With Filipinos, an “okay” or a “yes” could mean different things. “Opo, pero…” you need to clarify things.
Filipinos value hierarchy. Therefore, set a good example of a leader to them that they’ll recognize and respect you.
Clients should always give them positive feedback.
Put emphasis on punctuality despite the differences in internet connection or timezone.
