Star Spangled Banner
Oh say can you see,
By the dawn's early light,
What so proudly we hailed,
At the twilight's last gleaming?
Whose broad stripes
and bright stars,
Through the perilous fight,
O'er the ramparts we watched,
Were so gallantly streaming.
And the rocket's red glare,
The bombs bursting in air,
Gave proof through the night,
That our flag was still there.
Oh say does that star
spangled banner yet wave,
O'er the land of the free, and
the home of the brave.
Count Your Blessings
When upon life's billows
you are tempest tossed
When you are discouraged
thinking all is lost
Count your many blessings
name them one by one
And it will surprise you
what the Lord hath done
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God hath done
Count your blessings
name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God hath done.
Are you ever burdened
With a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy
You are called to bear?
Count your many blessings
Every doubt will fly
And you will be singing
As the days go by
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God hath done
Count your blessings
name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God hath done.
When you look at others with
their lands and gold
Think that Christ has promised
you His
wealth untold
Count your many blessings
money cannot buy
Your reward in heaven
Nor your home on high
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God hath done
Count your blessings
name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God hath done.
So amid the conflict whether
great or small
Do not be discouraged
God is over all
Count your many blessings
angels will attend
Help and comfort give you to
your journey’s end
Count your blessings
Name them one by one
Count your blessings
See what God hath done
Count your blessings
name them one by one
Count your many blessings
See what God hath done.
My Country,
‘Tis of Thee
My country, ‘tis of thee,
Sweet land of liberty,
Of thee I sing:
Land where my fathers died,
Land of the pilgrim’s Pride,
From ev’ry mountain side
Let freedom ring!
My native, country thee,
Land of the noble free,
Thy name I love:
I love thy rocks and rills,
Thy woods and templed hills;
My heart with rapture thrills
Like that above.
Let music swell the breeze,
And ring from all the trees
Sweet freedom’s song:
Let mortal tongues awake,
Let all that breathe partake;
Let rocks their silence break,
The sound prolong.
Our fathers’ God, to Thee,
Author of liberty,
To Thee we sing:
Long may our land be bright
With freedom’s holy light;
Protect us by Thy might,
Great God, our king!
Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord
In the light of His Word,
What a glory He
sheds on our way;
While we do His good will,
He abides with us still,
And with all who will
trust and obey.
Trust and obey,
For there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
Not a shadow can rise,
Not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly
drives it away;
Not a doubt or a fear,
Not a sigh or a tear,
Can abide while we
trust and obey.
Trust and obey,
For there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
Not a burden we bear,
Not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth
richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss,
Not a frown or a cross,
But is blest if we
trust and obey.
Trust and obey,
For there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
Then in fellowship sweet
We will sit at His feet,
Or we'll walk by His
side in the way;
What He says we will do;
Where He sends, we will go,
Never fear, only
trust and obey.
Trust and obey,
For there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus,
But to trust and obey.
Luke 10: 1-24
The Lord now chose seventy-two other disciples and
sent them ahead in pairs to all the towns and places
he planned to visit. 2 These were his instructions to
them: “The harvest is great, but the workers are few.
So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest;
ask him to send more workers into his fields. 3 Now
go, and remember that I am sending you out as lambs
among wolves.
4 Don’t take any money with you, nor a traveler’s bag,
nor an extra pair of sandals. And don’t stop to greet
anyone on the road.5 “Whenever you enter someone’s
home, first say, ‘May God’s peace be on this
house.’ 6 If those who live there are peaceful, the
blessing will stand; if they are not, the blessing will
return to you. 7 Don’t move around from home to
home. Stay in one place, eating and drinking what
they provide. Don’t hesitate to accept hospitality,
because those who work deserve their pay.
8 “If you enter a town and it welcomes you, eat
whatever is set before you. 9 Heal the sick, and tell
them, ‘The Kingdom of God is near you now.’ 10 But if
a town refuses to welcome you, go out into its streets
and say, 11 ‘We wipe even the dust of your town from
our feet to show that we have abandoned you to your
fate. And know this—the Kingdom of God is near!’ 12 I
assure you, even wicked Sodom will be better off than
such a town on judgment day.
13 “What sorrow awaits you, Korazin and Bethsaida!
For if the miracles I did in you had been done in
wicked Tyre and Sidon, their people would have
repented of their sins long ago, clothing themselves in
burlap and throwing ashes on their heads to show
their remorse. 14 Yes, Tyre and Sidon will be better off
on judgment day than you. 15 And you people of
Capernaum, will you be honored in heaven? No, you
will go down to the place of the dead.”
16 Then he said to the disciples, “Anyone who accepts
your message is also accepting me. And anyone who
rejects you is rejecting me. And anyone who rejects
me is rejecting God, who sent me.”
17 When the seventy-two disciples returned, they
joyfully reported to him, “Lord, even the demons
obey us when we use your name!”
18 “Yes,” he told them, “I saw Satan fall from heaven
like lightning!
19 Look, I have given you authority over all the power of
the enemy, and you can walk among snakes and
scorpions and crush them. Nothing will injure you. 20 But
don’t rejoice because evil spirits obey you; rejoice
because your names are registered in heaven.”
21 At that same time Jesus was filled with the joy of the
Holy Spirit, and he said, “O Father, Lord of heaven and
earth, thank you for hiding these things from those who
think themselves wise and clever, and for revealing them
to the childlike. Yes, Father, it pleased you to do it this
way.
22 “My Father has entrusted everything to me. No one truly
knows the Son except the Father, and no one truly knows the
Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to
reveal him.”
23 Then when they were alone, he turned to the disciples and
said,“Blessed are the eyes that see what you have seen. 24 I
tell you, many prophets and kings longed to see what you see,
but they didn’t see it. And they longed to hear what you hear,
but they didn’t hear it.”
Battle Hymn of the
Republic
Mine eyes have seen the glory
of the coming of the lord,
He is trampling out the vintage where
the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning
of His terrible swift sword,
His truth is marching on!
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watchfires of
a hundred circling camps,
They have builded Him an altar in
the evening dews and damps
I can read His righteous sentence
by the dim and flaring lamps
His day is marching on!
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
His truth is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet
that shall never sound retreat,
He is sifting out the hearts of men
before His judgment seat
O be swift my soul to answer Him
be jubilant my feet,
Our God is marching on!
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
His truth is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies
Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His being that
transfigures you and me
As He died to make men holy, let us
live to make men free,
While God is marching on!
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
Glory, glory hallelujah
His truth is marching on.
