Centralized application management
In this transportation client’s previous IT environment,
applications were installed locally. This drove up IT
costs as a result of periodic hardware upgrades, and
installing and configuring software updates on each
desktop.
EDS, now HP, developed an efficient, robust, and
secure thin-client management solution to meet the
client’s requirements. First, we created a proof of
concept and then installed it at the client’s corporate
headquarters. Applications can now be accessed
through thin-client devices.
The result: Management is centralized in the data
center, support costs were reduced, data security
enhanced, and the most recent version of applications
are delivered to end users for full performance.
