2. Hey!
I am Mantas, CEO of Eruditus team which created Loomideck enterprise social network. I am
not going to cook stories about our happy clients who use Loomideck, instead I will tell you how
we use it on a daily basis. I am not conventional type of CEO, I do not like formality, procedures,
consider that “done is better than perfect” and hate all that CEO-ish stuff.
3. On a daily basis I have to deal with these 3 mostly
Alex
Aleksej
Evita
CTO @ Eruditus
Head of design @ Eruditus
Director of accounts @ Eruditus
Hates email and Skype
An Artist from capital A
Constantly marks that
development is sort of an art
World saver, vegan and tree
hugger
Fails at planning work
Hates email and Skype too
Is the real tech genius
Adores the way Apple creates
products (except iOS7)
The only things she cares
about are deadlines and
revenue
Manages several projects at
the same time
Pretends to be blonde in tech
related stuff
4. Reasons to build collaboration tool
Back in a days, we were trying to adopt several collaboration platforms and all of these attempts failed. Key
reasons were:
ugly
intrusive
asocial
Awkward
Most of the products we
They sent too much email
None of those platforms
Clumsy feature set. This, I
tried, were too ugly to be
notifications (overloaded
didn’t force us to consume
think, doesn’t need to be
open all the time
inbox was driving mad
data shared by other
explained
especialy me and Evita)
teammates
So we raised a question, maybe it is reasonable to create something what we would not reject?
5. Key goals of our new product
We met all of these requirements when Loomideck was finally up and running!
Perfectly crafted and intuitive interface
Not more than 2 clicks to complete major
operations
The best tasks manager you can imagine
Interface which inspires you to consume
data shared by other teammates
Highly advanced from technology point
of view
Perfect setup for projects management
Replacement for Skype intra-team chats
6. So how does it help me on a daily basis?
Notes help me to share new ideas
related with products development
and collect feedback
I have separates teams on Loomideck for
each project
When I read something what is
worth sharing, I share it with the
team I want via “Save to
Loomideck” bookmarklet
I initiate conversations for
brainstorms instead of
physical meetings
I share files by drag & drop
Setup of pins, notes, tasks lists
and conversations I find the best
way to handle projects.
I dedicate tasks for Alex and Aleksej and
track their progress
7. This is the way Evita uses Loomideck
Evita handles several projects teams on
Loomideck and all to them are remote
Initiates conversations to discuss projects
development plans (this saves load of
money which we would spend on travels)
She shares projects related
data with dedicated teams
Shares funny and cute bookmarks :)
Dedicates tasks for Aleksej and remote
development team
8. Alex. The way CTO started to use collaboration platform!
And finally we have a platform
which he keeps open all the time.
Alex productivity depends on the way
he writes down any single task he
must complete, so his tasks lists are
the longest ones on Loomideck.
He abandoned Skype totally, but I
always know that I will catch him
on conversations. If he is not online,
I just check “notify on Facebook”
and he receives that message
directly to his messenger (also to his
“Pebble” so I am double sure he gets it)
Each day he starts with a new superb
track which he shares on Loomideck.
(I always listen that tracks in sidebar
as media player doesn’t interrupt my
ongoing work and navigation)
9. Aleksej in search for pixel level perfection.
Probably the most hated tasks list
he finds is the one which Evita
appointed him to.
Aleksej always shares new design files
with Alex and finally he stopped yelling
“Turn on your Airdrop” (Alex always has
his headphones on), he simply drops
that files into Loomideck and it doesn’t
matter that .psd file can be up to 100mb
size, upload of such files goes in a
background, so you don’t need to wait
(after upload starts, press save and
widget of progress will appear in a
sidebar)
He always bookmarks something
amazing from design point of view
into Loomideck (all that “hug the
tree and save the world” he left
for Facebook)
I always ask him for an eye popping
presentations designs and leave him
texts in notes or upload presentations
drafts so he can download it.
