2. HOW TO START A JUICE FACTORY
Step 1 - Register the juice factory business with the secretary of
state's office and county clerk's office. Apply for an Employer
Identification Number (EIN). Apply for a sales tax number
through your state's Department of Revenue (see Resources) to
collect sales tax from customers.
Step 2 - Contact the Department of Health in your state (see
Resources) to determine the types of licenses needed to open a
factory. Contact the Occupational Safety and Health
Administration (OSHA) for safety guidelines and requirements
for operating a factory and warehouse.
3. Step 3 - Determine the types of products to sell including juice
flavors, sports drinks and specialty drinks such as health drinks
or children's drinks.
Step 4 - Lease or purchase factory property. Choose a space large
enough to create product receiving, production, packaging,
shipping and storage areas
Step 5 - Set up the juice factory. Designate an area to receive
juice product supplies and materials and an area to store
product back stock, supplies and materials.
Step 6 -Arrange meetings with grocery and retail outlet buyers to
sample juice products. Create a website to sell juice products
directly to customers.
4. THE LICENSE FOR STARTING A
JUICE BAR
All businesses require permits and licenses before being
declared legally operational. Juice bars, because they sell
products and deal with food, require certain permits and
licenses that other businesses do not. To acquire the necessary
licenses and permits, juice bar owners must fill out forms and
contact both local government and state government.
5. • Vendor License - Most states require juice bar owners to
obtain a vendor license before launching their businesses.
• Health Permit - Health permits fall under the jurisdiction of
localities, but almost all local governments require juice bar
owners to acquire a health permit. The local government wants
to ensure that your juice bar is safe for customers
6. • Zoning Permit - Each locality has different regulations when
it comes to zoning permits. Local governments issue zoning
permits, so we need to contact city council or county clerk for
specific information.
• General Business Licenses and Permits - All businesses
require a few standard licenses and permits before they are
legally allowed to make a sale. A Sales and Use tax license,
“doing business as” license and a registered organizational
setup -- as in sole proprietorship, partnership and corporation -
- are all required to begin juice bar.
