The document discusses challenges facing the refining and petrochemical industries related to reducing carbon emissions. It notes that while oil demand growth is expected to plateau after 2030 due to energy transition, new oil production will still be needed. Around 45% of projected new global oil supply in 2040 is expected to have a break-even price below $40 per barrel. Refining capacity additions are concentrated in Asia and the Middle East through 2026, while some refineries in other regions may close without integration with petrochemicals. The petrochemical industry recently added large amounts of new capacity but demand growth has not kept pace, suggesting earnings could decline. However, current supply chain disruptions and strong demand are keeping earnings higher
Chris Turner from Cockett Marine Oil Group gave a presentation on how the Middle East bunker industry will cope with the upcoming global sulfur cap regulation. He noted that the Middle East produces high-sulfur crude oil and currently supplies around 15 million tons of bunker fuel per year, much of which will not comply with the 0.5% sulfur limit. However, the region is projected to have a surplus of distillate fuels by 2020 and refineries are investing in upgrades to increase production of very low sulfur fuels. While there are challenges, Turner concluded the Middle East could adapt to the new regulations by relying more heavily on its growing distillate pool and upcoming refinery upgrades to supply compliant marine fuels.

The document discusses the challenges facing the LNG industry due to rising costs and price volatility. It notes that LNG project costs escalated dramatically between 2004-2010 due to increased demand for contractors and materials. This was exacerbated by projects being awarded as lump-sum contracts, forcing contractors to add risk premiums to cover uncertainties. Additionally, contractors significantly increased profit margins during this period. The document outlines factors driving recent oil and LNG price declines, creating difficulties for many producer countries and companies.
Lattice Energy LLC - LENR technology fits beautifully into Saudi Arabias Visi...Lewis Larsen
Ultralow energy neutron reactions (LENRs) are new type of clean, green CO2-free nuclear energy source that has huge energy densities, vastly lower costs versus fission or fusion, and could enable truly sustainable economic growth. Development and utilization of LENR thermal sources for process heat could help reduce upstream and downstream costs for Saudi Aramco and SABIC; also significantly decrease CO2 emission footprint for all of KSA’s industries. Research institutions K●A●CARE and KAUST would have key development roles. Should be possible to develop nanoparticulate LENR fuels derived from aromatic fractions present in oil as well as Carbon-aromatics produced from natural gas; would be suitable for use in huge array of customer applications that include stationary/portable power generation and vehicular propulsion. LENRs would enable development of extremely broad range of new types of high performance products that use low-cost, enormously versatile LENR power sources; these new products could be indigenously produced by Saudi companies and then exported to diverse customers located all over the world. Aramco’s existing crude oil refineries could be modified to add capability for future production of LENR fuels in parallel with traditional industry products. LENRs are a major strategic opportunity for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that fits beautifully into many key goals in the country’s very bold Vision 2030 plan.

Financial Algorithms presents the energy trading scenario for the year 2016. In this presentation, after examining various fundamental factors in energy sector, FA forecasts the crude oil price, gasoline & natural gas price levels for the year 2016; in case of mean volatility levels and high volatility levels, both. FA also focuses on how to model price levels and volatility surfaces in low volatility and high volatility scenarios under forward & forward-forward models using various energy contracts and spreads i.e. crack spread. Various greek sensitivities including second order & third order greeks, which can be helpful in projecting the price & volatility levels, are also described. At the end, correlation factors, fundamental & technical both, are discussed. These correlation factors are exogenous in price forecasting, and new emerging trends which can affect the energy trading in a long run also been discussed.
The UAE plans to increase crude oil and gas production over the next few years through enhanced oil recovery techniques in mature fields, with the goal of expanding oil production by 30% by 2020. This includes projects to increase production at the Upper Zakum and Lower Zakum oil fields. The UAE also aims to increase domestic natural gas production to meet growing demand, though developing its gas reserves is challenging due to high sulfur content.

The CBC machine is a common diagnostic tool used by doctors to measure a patient's red blood cell count, white blood cell count and platelet count. The machine uses a small sample of the patient's blood, which is then placed into special tubes and analyzed. The results of the analysis are then displayed on a screen for the doctor to review. The CBC machine is an important tool for diagnosing various conditions, such as anemia, infection and leukemia. It can also help to monitor a patient's response to treatment.
Advanced control scheme of doubly fed induction generator for wind turbine us...IJECEIAES
This paper describes a speed control device for generating electrical energy on an electricity network based on the doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) used for wind power conversion systems. At first, a double-fed induction generator model was constructed. A control law is formulated to govern the flow of energy between the stator of a DFIG and the energy network using three types of controllers: proportional integral (PI), sliding mode controller (SMC) and second order sliding mode controller (SOSMC). Their different results in terms of power reference tracking, reaction to unexpected speed fluctuations, sensitivity to perturbations, and resilience against machine parameter alterations are compared. MATLAB/Simulink was used to conduct the simulations for the preceding study. Multiple simulations have shown very satisfying results, and the investigations demonstrate the efficacy and power-enhancing capabilities of the suggested control system.

Embedded machine learning-based road conditions and driving behavior monitoringIJECEIAES
Car accident rates have increased in recent years, resulting in losses in human lives, properties, and other financial costs. An embedded machine learning-based system is developed to address this critical issue. The system can monitor road conditions, detect driving patterns, and identify aggressive driving behaviors. The system is based on neural networks trained on a comprehensive dataset of driving events, driving styles, and road conditions. The system effectively detects potential risks and helps mitigate the frequency and impact of accidents. The primary goal is to ensure the safety of drivers and vehicles. Collecting data involved gathering information on three key road events: normal street and normal drive, speed bumps, circular yellow speed bumps, and three aggressive driving actions: sudden start, sudden stop, and sudden entry. The gathered data is processed and analyzed using a machine learning system designed for limited power and memory devices. The developed system resulted in 91.9% accuracy, 93.6% precision, and 92% recall. The achieved inference time on an Arduino Nano 33 BLE Sense with a 32-bit CPU running at 64 MHz is 34 ms and requires 2.6 kB peak RAM and 139.9 kB program flash memory, making it suitable for resource-constrained embedded systems.
Electric vehicle and photovoltaic advanced roles in enhancing the financial p...IJECEIAES
Climate change's impact on the planet forced the United Nations and governments to promote green energies and electric transportation. The deployments of photovoltaic (PV) and electric vehicle (EV) systems gained stronger momentum due to their numerous advantages over fossil fuel types. The advantages go beyond sustainability to reach financial support and stability. The work in this paper introduces the hybrid system between PV and EV to support industrial and commercial plants. This paper covers the theoretical framework of the proposed hybrid system including the required equation to complete the cost analysis when PV and EV are present. In addition, the proposed design diagram which sets the priorities and requirements of the system is presented. The proposed approach allows setup to advance their power stability, especially during power outages. The presented information supports researchers and plant owners to complete the necessary analysis while promoting the deployment of clean energy. The result of a case study that represents a dairy milk farmer supports the theoretical works and highlights its advanced benefits to existing plants. The short return on investment of the proposed approach supports the paper's novelty approach for the sustainable electrical system. In addition, the proposed system allows for an isolated power setup without the need for a transmission line which enhances the safety of the electrical network
