How to Repent
Acts 17:30-31 30 Truly, these times of
ignorance God overlooked, but now
commands all men everywhere to repent,
31 because He has appointed a day on
which He will judge the world in
righteousness by the Man whom He has
ordained. He has given assurance of this
to all by raising Him from the dead."

LEADS TO DESTRUCTION

Luke 13:1-5 Something worse than crisis



Breaking God's law – called sin

Anyone who sins must repent of that sin

already learned – Revelation 2:5

For others – Learn what God's will is

3 – RESOLVE TO FOLLOW THAT WAY

This is where repentance comes in.

It is the change of mind that causes a change
in direction.

Examples:


4 – SHOW FRUIT OF THE CHANGE

Matthew 3:8 Therefore bear fruits worthy
of repentance,

James 2:18 But someone will say, "You
have faith, and I have works." Show me
your faith without your works, and I will
show you my faith by my works.
How to Repent

4 – SHOW FRUIT OF THE CHANGE

Thief can't repent and keep what he stole.

Liar can't repent and fail to correct
the lies he told.

Child-napper can't repent and keep the
stolen child.

Adulterer can't repent and keep the spouse
he is not authorized to have.
How to Repent

5 – WALK IN THE LIGHT

1 John 1:7

For repentance to take place – there
must be a change of direction.

Walk – implies – stay in this new way

Do not keep going into sin – repent -
the repeat over and over

The change must not be temporary
How to Repent

