MongoDB Days UK: Using MongoDB and Python for Data Analysis PipelinesMongoDB
Presented by Eoin Brazil, Proactive Technical Services Engineer, MongoDB
Experience level: Advanced
MongoDB offers a flexible, scalable, and easy way to store your large data set. Python provides many useful data science tools (e.g. NumPy, SciPy, Scikit-learn, etc.). This talk will discuss the concerns for creating operational data analytic pipelines, introduce Monary as alternative for loading data into NumPy, and give examples of accessing data with Monary, as well as how to build scalable data analysis pipelines using these open source tools.

This talk explores case studies of effective usage of Numpy/Scipy and shows that the computational speed sometimes improves drastically with the appropriate derivation of formulas and performance-conscious implementation. I especially focus on scipy.sparse, the module for sparse matrices, which is often useful in the areas of machine learning and natural language processing.
WattGo: Analyses temps-réél de series temporelles avec Spark et Solr (Français)DataStax Academy
Since two years, embracing new challenges as Smart Grid technologies emerge and IoT world grows, WattGo engages utility customers with personalized Smart Energy Analytics revealing the value of raw energy data.
During this session, we will show you how we are able to handle massive dataflow and perform real-time analysis on smart meters and IoT devices data using Spark Streaming.
Then we will describe some key features of our infrastructure and how we designed reactive data processing pipeline on top of Cassandra using core functionalities like Cassandra Triggers and DSE field transformers.
In the end, we will explain why we decide to move from ElasticSearch to Solr leveraging full power of DSE.

Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Elevating Tactical DDD Patterns Through Object CalisthenicsDorra BARTAGUIZ
After immersing yourself in the blue book and its red counterpart, attending DDD-focused conferences, and applying tactical patterns, you're left with a crucial question: How do I ensure my design is effective? Tactical patterns within Domain-Driven Design (DDD) serve as guiding principles for creating clear and manageable domain models. However, achieving success with these patterns requires additional guidance. Interestingly, we've observed that a set of constraints initially designed for training purposes remarkably aligns with effective pattern implementation, offering a more ‘mechanical’ approach. Let's explore together how Object Calisthenics can elevate the design of your tactical DDD patterns, offering concrete help for those venturing into DDD for the first time!
