1. How to fix guide
Minor Problems with lighting
- If a Safety chain is not attached then first make sure that it is not loose along the
side, otherwise go to the technician’s office or wherever the lights are where there
will be spares, Safety chains are important to reduce risk of the light falling from the
rig.
- If the light is not plugged in or not plugged in properly then get a pair of ladders and
go up into the rig an make sure the light is plugged in properly DO NOT turn the
power on before the problem has been fixed as this can cause electrocution.
- The lights must be the right way up, you can tell this by looking at the lights, if the
beam angle dial is not facing the floor then the light is not on the right way up, to fix
this get a pair of ladders, go up into the rig and flip the light over, then re-focus if
need be.
- Lights such as the ten Fresnel’s in the Drama Studio SHOULD all have a Gel Frame
and a Gel, if this is absent; go to the technicians office where there will surely be gels
and gel frames, cut one out if need be and place them in the light with a pair of
ladders.
- Lights such as these Fresnel’s should all have accessories, in this case; Barn Doors, if
there are none on the light go to the technician’s office where there will be some
and place them on the front of the light in the rig with a pair of ladders.
- ALL lights have a G-Clamp, they must be over the top of the handle of the light, if
however they are tucked underneath you must fix this as this restricts movement, to
do this go into the rig with a set of ladders and unscrew the light, then screw it back
in in the right position.

2. More Demanding Problems
Bulb Blown (Using a CCT Fresnel as an example.)
- First you must unscrew the bottom of the light panel.
- Then lift the panel and see whether or not the light has blown
(the bulb may be black if it has, its filament may havebroken also).

3. - If it has then unclip the bulb from its slot and replace it with a
new clear bulb.
- The right bulb is 650w and the Prongs on the bulb and light
socket fit into each other.
- If however the bulb is not broken; sign a form stating what the
apparent problem is and attach it to the light, then hand it to
the technican.
