This document describes an experiment conducted by Carol Treat Morton and Samah Majadla to alleviate issues with traditional process and data modeling. They found that using simple tools like post-its and crayons to create workflows and object models in a visual and collaborative way helped the entire team understand the models. The models were more inclusive, spontaneous and improved communication compared to traditional complex diagrams only understandable by some. They shared this approach and how putting together the simple visual representations into a combined model everyone can understand is the goal.
Proper planning is essential before designing a website to avoid costly mistakes. The document recommends creating a storyboard that maps out each page, including the home page and subsequent tiers of internal pages linked from the home and each other. Drawing out the site structure on paper allows problems to be identified and solved before spending time coding, preventing major redesigns later on. Getting feedback from others can also help improve the design before development begins.
This document provides a step-by-step tutorial for setting up and using Dropbox. It outlines the process for creating a Dropbox account, downloading the Dropbox application, and dragging and dropping files into the Dropbox folder to sync and share them between devices. The tutorial also demonstrates how to use Dropbox to send photo files of products from one user to another without a physical storage device by dragging the photos into the shared Dropbox folder.
Used for teaching HTML to middle school children (6th, 7th, and 8th graders) in a "game way" with some immediate gratification. Feedback much appreciated: jgp@jgp.net.

Interacting with computational devices was limited to using a keyboard and mouse for many years. More recently, touchscreens have become popular, especially in mobile computing. However, accurate three dimensional gestures are still difficult to recognize. One approach is the use of depth cameras, which are currently receiving much attention again in academic and in commercial fields due to the release of inexpensive consumer electronics like Microsoft’s Kinect in 2010.
This presentation reflects depth camera technologies, and how gestures can be used for new interface designs. The first part establishes a framework to evaluate the suitability of depth cameras for gesture recognition. The second part focuses on interactions in three dimensional virtual spaces. I developed a gesture interface for an existing application to navigate in virtual spaces and to construct LEGO models. A user study was performed to compare the gesture input with traditional mouse and keyboard input. Finally, I discussed the influences of the findings for future research in gesture interfaces.

Comet: by pushing server data, we push the web forwardNOLOH LLC.
According to the specification of HTTP, which is at the heart of all things web, a client must first request or “pull” information from the server and the server can only issue responses. It is never the other way around, with the server initiating the communication and “pushing” the data as it becomes available. Overcoming this limitation, actually an old and historical problem, would have remarkable applications, benefiting almost every page on the web to various degrees, and significantly enhancing the user experience. And the best part is: you can do it all right now, on any average server environment, and have it work on any standard browser! The modern, Web 2.0 -inspired collection of these solutions, design principles, and techniques for this “sever push technology” is sometimes referred to as “Comet.” I will discuss in detail: the numerous uses and benefits of Comet; the problems and difficulties that developers have to face; the variously accepted solution strategies that exist today including polling, long polling, streaming; their subcategories and their specific implementations, subcategories, advantages, disadvantages, and compatibility nuances; how HTML5 offers to address the issue; as well as outline some original research on the topic. Finally, I will illustrate these concepts and ideas through the live coding of a simple, Comet-based application using the help of a PHP framework with rich Comet support.
The document discusses the stages of fracture healing, including:
1. Hematoma formation, proliferation of cells, and differentiation of cells to begin forming callus tissue.
2. The formation of an external callus from periosteum cells and an internal callus from bone marrow cells, which form irregular trabecular bone (callus) to bridge the fracture gap.
3. Remodeling of the callus over time through osteoblastic and osteoclastic activity to develop a stronger structure appropriate for mechanical stresses.
This document summarizes a study that compares the application of closed and open systems thinking in innovation projects. The study finds that open systems thinking, which allows flexibility and boundary management, is more useful for complex, uncertain projects like innovation projects. Specifically, projects using open systems thinking achieved more goals due to flexibility, internal/external boundary management, and alignment of strategic goals with activities. In contrast, projects using closed systems thinking lacked flexibility, had in-group problems, and could not deal with user-level complexity due to standardized boundary management and buffering of the system.

Stand tall and show the world what you are made of. When the world beats you down, find a reason to get back up again. Never give up on success.
Try, try, try and try again. Feed your mind ideas of success, not failure.
Remember, the only way you can fail is if you give up. Every time you fail, you come one step closer to success.
You are not scared; you are courageous. You are not weak; you are powerful. You are not ordinary, you are remarkable.
Do not back down, do not give up.
When you look back on your life, don't have regrets. Believe in yourself, believe in your future, you will find your way.
There is a fire burning inside you that is very powerful; it is waiting to burn bright. You are meant to do great things.
Following your dreams can be both terrifying and exciting.
Courage is facing fear. Fear of failure holds most people back. You are not most people.
Persist and persuade others about your plans, as they are real. Nobody can do this but you. Nobody will get in the way of our dreams.
Most people master the obvious; you are creating something that wasn't there before. It's bold, it's beautiful, and it's you.
Give it your best, and your dreams will come to life. Success is yours.
Go for your dreams; it is your turn.

This document discusses how to make money with online content in a simple way by charging for content instead of relying on advertising revenue from free content. It argues that relying solely on Google for traffic and AdSense for revenue is risky because Google can change its algorithms or policies at any time. While niche content targeting the "long tail" is possible, most people will not make meaningful money that way by giving content away for free. Instead, the document advocates creating valuable content once and then selling it repeatedly to customers by building a community around paid content offerings.
1. The document describes a program called CB Passive Income License Program 3.0 that allows users to generate passive income online without doing much work.
2. Through the program, users are given a unique link to a "secret webpage" where they can give away Patric Chan's software and training course for free. Subscribers who sign up will then receive affiliate links in follow-up emails, allowing the user to earn commissions.
3. The program claims to handle most of the work like creating content, marketing, and monetizing subscribers. Users just need to focus on giving away the free software through their unique link provided. This allows them to generate passive income through affiliate commissions in the emails sent to subscribers
This document provides instructions for creating a basic three-page website. It explains that having your own website is important for an online business rather than using a free affiliate site. While affiliate marketing can work, most people do not make money that way because simply having products on a site is not enough - marketing skills are also required to succeed. The document then guides the reader through setting up their first website using step-by-step instructions.
This document provides guidance on whether to create your own website or use a free affiliate website. While free affiliate websites give you an immediate online presence, they do not provide marketing support needed to succeed. Most people who make money do so through hard work marketing their site, not just by having products available. Creating your own basic website as outlined in this guide allows you to gain more control and understanding of your online business.
This document provides a step-by-step guide to creating a basic website. It begins by explaining that having your own website is essential for an online business to succeed. While free affiliate websites are available, they do not provide full control and require additional marketing efforts. The document then guides the reader through setting up their own free-hosting website using basic HTML coding. By following the steps, a reader can create a functional three-page website with links between pages to get their first online presence.
This document summarizes an offer to license a passive income business system for $97. The system was created by Patric Chan and involves giving away free marketing software and courses to generate subscribers. Subscribers are then sent affiliate marketing emails where the license owner earns commissions. The system handles all aspects like content creation, marketing, and customer service. It is presented as an easy way to generate passive income with little work beyond promoting the free offers. The license includes training and access to proven marketing pages and software to manage leads and commissions.
This document describes a system for making money through Clickbank affiliate marketing. It claims the author earned over $100,000 in 2014 and nearly $30,000 so far in 2015 through promoting just two Clickbank vendors. The author offers to teach their system for a one-time fee, claiming it takes just one hour to set up and can earn thousands per month with minimal ongoing effort. The document includes screenshots purportedly showing the author's Clickbank earnings statements and bank deposits to support the income claims. It promises a 60-day money back guarantee if users are not satisfied with earnings after implementing the system.
