• Finally You got an MBA HR? Did not get hired in campus?
• Degree is a very small step and not apassport to great job
• How much knowledge you got and retained will ensure success.
• I have interviewed tons of HR graduates who do not even answer
correctly the question on implications of maslow’s model on
employee motivation and retention
• Do not know difference between behavior and attitude

• Even if you can’t remember everything and you did all your
projects in copy paste manner ,it is worth while to revisit those
projects and firm up the concepts .
• That will go long way in building capability in one area.
• Be it compensation, reward management , performance
management etc

• Did not get job easily after MBA?
• Are you frustrated ?
• Will you settle for any job?
• Do not do that .i know of many MBAs who have ended up in payroll
• Attendance monitoring etc

• Get more clout by getting some depth in tools .
• Thomas profiling,MBTA, 16PF etc

• Find a mentor/coach.
• Get the benefit of a senior HR person’s knowledge.
• Use social media to locate one. They will gladly mentor you
• There are online coaching sites as well.

• Read latest books and articles
• Keeping up with latest development is essential
• ISTD/SHRM jorunals

• Prove your strength in the first job within few months of joining
• I remember my first job .first day. I joined when the strike was on and
got gheraoed
• Did not even know how to face that situation. Felt like resigning from
the job
• When I faced it for 3 months, the learning was tremendous and got
rewarded as well .

• HR job is not that paying job. Constantly you need to fight as
managements will discriminate MBA-HR from MBA finance or IT
