The JMCC, an interdenominational choir of 50 voices known as the "Majestics" is under the Christian leadership and spiritual direction of Dr. Kirdell S. Minor. The Majestics were organized in Washington, D.C. in 1956 at the Church of God. The Choir began with a group of young people who loved to sing and wanted to spread their music ministry outside of the walls of the church community. The Majestics' attribute their longevity as a choir to their love for God and the inspiration they give and receive through their ministry in song. It is through their ministry of musical praise that they seek to bring souls to Christ. The choir does not sing to benefit monetarily, but to grow and benefit spiritually.

DOCUMENTARY ANALYSIS: "KUTKOT" - DOCUMENTARY BY KARA DAVIDEmmanuelJrHabla
The culture and traditions of the Philippines are considered diverse and complex due to its rich origins. One of its pieces of evidence that makes the culture and tradition colourful was the different ethnic tribes present in the country. Accordingly, there are approximately one hundred thirty – four indigenous ethical tribes in the Philippines inhabiting Luzon, Visaya, and Mindanao's highland and lowland. Among those tribes are the Hanunuo Mangyans of Mansalay, Mindoro Oriental. Mrs Kara Patria Constantino David-Cancio explored and witnessed the ritual of "kutkot" or unearthing in fulfilling the promise of their dead relative and its value among the tribe.
In the documentary entitled "'Kutkot" published on the 2nd of April 2017, it highlighted how Hanunuo Mangyans honoured the final request of their loved ones and how fear instilled among their tribesmen on the preservation of their sacred ritual "Kutkot" and on the ransacking of the remains of their people in their resting place. Hence, Hanunuo Mangyans wanted to show others how this sacred ritual came about and why they fear this ritual's future.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.
This is a presentation by Dada Robert in a Your Skill Boost masterclass organised by the Excellence Foundation for South Sudan (EFSS) on Saturday, the 25th and Sunday, the 26th of May 2024.
He discussed the concept of quality improvement, emphasizing its applicability to various aspects of life, including personal, project, and program improvements. He defined quality as doing the right thing at the right time in the right way to achieve the best possible results and discussed the concept of the "gap" between what we know and what we do, and how this gap represents the areas we need to improve. He explained the scientific approach to quality improvement, which involves systematic performance analysis, testing and learning, and implementing change ideas. He also highlighted the importance of client focus and a team approach to quality improvement.

3. MY RELIGION IS CHRISTIANITY
• Among the wind instruments used in the biblical period were the cornet,
flute, horn, organ, pipe, and trumpet. There were also silver trumpets and
the double oboe.
4. INTRODUCTION
• The children have little experience of faiths other than Christianity and in
the village there are several Christian places of worship: an Anglican, a
Catholic, a Pentecostal and a Methodist Church and the school has built good
relationships with the protestant churches and their incumbents. The vicar
from St. Luke’s Church is the Chair of Governors and involves the school in
church projects.
• There are strong connections that exist between religion and music and
these can be used to help pupils engage with religious themes. I have used my
Farmington Fellowship to explore the links between religion and
5. CHRISTIANITY
• Music is an important part of Christian worship, thanksgiving and celebration
showing how worshippers feel towards God. Music unites the congregation so
that God is worshipped with one voice. A wide variety of music is used in
Christian worship including hymns, psalms, choral music, gospel songs,
contemporary music and instrumental music, played for meditation and reflection.
• Christian music is music that has been written to express personal or communal
belief regarding Christian life and faith. Common themes include praise, worship,
celebration, penitence and lament, its forms varying widely across the world.
6. CELEBRATIONS
• Music is used in most faiths in festivals, acts of celebration and rites of passage
to express worship, thanksgiving and joy. Many songs have been written for
children in the Christian and Jewish traditions which can be used in worship or
have been written to explain the reasons for particular celebrations. There are
also songs that have been written to explain Islamic celebrations, though these
are not used in worship. It is important to look at the similarities in the ways in
which we celebrate festivals and empathise with those that are different. For
example the celebrations of the Christian Harvest Festival and the Jewish
Succot have many similarities, the main one being that God is being thanked for
food grown but the differences are in how the festivals are celebrated.
7. BLESSINGS
• Blessings are used in many religions to bless people, their homes, their
families, places of worship and events and connect them with the Creator,
asking for his approval and protection. Blessings are also used in ceremonies
marking rites of passage.
• ‘To bless means to wish, unconditionally and from the deepest chamber of
your heart, unrestricted good for others and events: it means to hallow, to
hold in reverence [….] To bless is to invoke divine care upon, to speak or think
gratefully for, to confer happiness upon, although we ourselves are never the
bestower, but simply the joyful witness of life’s abundance.
