The First Nations people of the St. Lawrence Lowlands wore loincloths, moccasins, and clothing made of beaver. Men and women both wore moccasins. Jewelry included bracelets made of beaver claws and necklaces with real beaver paws. They lived in longhouses up to 30 meters long that could house 35 people or up to 1,500 people total. When villages became overpopulated, smaller hamlets were built. Transportation included wagons and long boats. Government was based on personal responsibility and respecting others. They had numerous spiritual festivals throughout the year to celebrate seasons and events.
