  1. What support digital leads need to help their organisation become digitally mature Digi maturity self-assessment was born - a way to provide digi leads with a roadmap towards digital maturity
  2. Self -assessment is like a personality test - 14 questions (around these competencies). Multiple-option answers Answers are impacted by that individual’s understanding of the business and the questions.
  3. Five levels - from basic digital operation - understaffed and under-developed to transformational.
  4. Data/segmentation Email segmentation is based on the available supporter database data and doesn’t include any of the online behaviour data (e.g. email opens, clicks). Training Our Digital Lead organises sessions with colleagues on the basics of Digital. Training budget is very small, maybe covering one big event or a couple of smaller basic training sessions, only for people who have some digital responsibility. Recruitment/Staffing Usually digital responsibilities are tagged onto another communications role, so more than basic digital skills are not a priority. Recruitment for digital roles (if it happens) is focused on acquiring technical skills for digital essentials – website and email management. Salaries offered are not competitive.
  5. Attitude People in my organisation recognise that Digital is a growing part of delivering value to supporters and are keen to learn more about it.ed. Digital budget There is a sufficient budget for maintenance and licences and some money for new technical development and testing. There is a small digital creative budget, which usually needs topping up by other stakeholders in order to deliver a project in full. Digital Lead has a stake in the delivery of digital deliverables. Technology Our CMS is working but needs replacing soon. We don't have a mobile responsive website. We have some mobile friendly journeys. Our supporter db contains some data on online activity (such as transactions, campaigning actions, event registration) and is updated frequently but not in real time.
