3. YouTube
 YouTube was a pivotal tool for research,
 much of the information gathered was from video found on this
online video sharing platform
 YouTube not only offered us the ability to be able to find example
trailers that we would use to base our own work off of, but it also
enabled us to see videos that explored topics we were looking at in
depth (etc. marketing, genre convention, software tutorials...)
 YouTube also worked as a fantastic tool for receiving audience
feedback, we were able to instantly receive feedback via the
comment section feature, this helped us to clearly see the pros and
cons of our project

5. Final Cut
 Final cut was arguably the most important piece of software during the production process
 We used this software to edit our trailer in it's entirety, the easy to use features made editing a
smooth and easy process offering a simplicity that I'veyet to experience with other video editors
such as adobe premier or Sony Vegas
 The software's multi channel audio editing really came in handy when layering our soundtrack,
allowing us to lay new sounds we would come across online on top of our ready made
soundtrack enabling the creation a larger and more cinematic score
 The software's level editor also allowed us to manipulate volume across a sound clip, helping us to
create a crescendo with the music
 It was incredibly easy to move between tools using letters to change between blade, trim zoom,
position and so on
 Pre-made transitions and generators, helped us to quickly create idents and title screens that
adhered to genre
 The unified import interface also made importing our clips incredibly easy, being able to import
both pictures and videos from the same place at the click of a button, or through simply dragging
a clip into final cut

7. Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop
 Illustrator and photoshop were amazingly helpful in the creation of our poster
 I personally had previous experience with the software so knew how to use their features
effectively
 however I would argue they are not the simplest pieces of software to use, with many of their
features being both complex to find and use
 I would argue however that photoshop is the easier software to use, with its photo editing tools
being placed in a single concise location, making changing between tools simple
 I however do really appreciate the layer features in both software's, allowing separate elements
within the same project to be isolated and worked on enabling a better focus on small but
important visual elements
 A big plus is the partnership the two software's have with each other
 The partnership enabled me to manipulate PSD files in both software's, I would transfer work
across and work in both software's at once for different purposes,
 this was very helpful when trying to fit our characters to the background for the poster, allowing
me to colorize them in photoshop, then transfer them to illustrator to be placed

9. Logic Pro X
 Logic was a pivotal piece of software in the creation of our sound track
 Its multitrack features allowed me to really layer and blend the sounds I found to
create an immersive and atmospheric score that fit the action thriller genre very well
 Its film score feature was fantastic, and allowed me to import our rough cut into logic
and create a soundtrack directly to the video, this helped me make a soundtrack
that accurately captured the atmosphere of the film, enabling me to directly
reference our trailer throughout the process
 One problem I encountered when creating our soundtrack was blending two sounds
together so they flowed seamlessly into one another
 Logics fade tool helped me to do this, getting rid of the rigid sound of a new clip
beginning, thus bettering the trailers continuity
 I have had prior experience with logic, but I would still argue that many of logics
features are complex and take time to get use to, due to logic being a more
complex version of 'Garage Band' its features are more difficult, such as the time flex
tool that I struggled to use when trying to slow down a sound file
 These features could be simplified and made easier to find on the software, but I
suppose you may argue that the software is not meant for novices

11. Canon
550D
• This is the camera we used for our film
• Lenses were interchangeable and this enabled us to film in
different environments helping us to capture crisp close ups with
a 5omm lens, whilst also enabling us to film further from the
action with the 18-55mm kit lens
• The camera had a really simple layout that was great
for beginners
• we were able to see all the functions we needed
clearly and use them when needed.
• The wheel at the top made each shooting made
really clear and helped greatly. adjusting the ISO and
F stop was also made simpler with the wheel acting as
the controller, however I would say this could've been
improved with an onscreen editing option that was
present in stills modes but not filming modes.
• The most helpful feature during filming, was the auto
focus feature on the 50mm and 18-55mm lenses this
allowed us to move our camera about without having
to manually focus ourselves

I used Prezi to answer my first evaluation question and found it to be an incredibly entertaining way to
present my ideas. The software comes with preset themes that allow the viewer to feel as though they are
taking a journey through your presentation, it is an engaging and effective way to put forward ideas. I
couldn’t really fault the software finding the interface incrediblysimple and easy to navigate
Power point was integral in both the planning and evaluation or our project, we used it to create our pitch
presentation and complete some evaluation questions. PowerPoint is a classic presentation format that
helps merge visualswith text, this marriagehelps to aid a speech very well and on its own presents
information great visually. The online aspect of PowerPoint was great, not only did it allow us to collaborate
as a group from separate locations but also to store our work online saving automatically just incase of
malfunction.
I used final cut to answer one of my evaluation questions, I felt the question would best be answered as a
visual essay, and through final cut I was able to easily make a video that I feel well answered the question.
The software's multi track feature allowed me to place video clips then narrate over them and this helped
me to put across my point more concisely to the correct visuals.
People take instant messaging for granted, but it was incredibly
useful whilst scheduling allowing us to hold conversations and
plan when we were away from one another.
