Autofocus, also called power-focus, uses a miniature motor to automatically focus camera lenses. There are two main types of autofocus - active and passive. Active autofocus uses infrared light or sound waves to determine distance and focus, while passive autofocus uses computer analysis of images. Both aim to make photography easier by automating the focusing process.
