The Horned Grebe has distinctive yellowish horns behind its eyes. During breeding season, its feathers turn red. It nests in shallow freshwater marshes and bays, then moves to coastal areas in winter. Its population is declining due to loss of wetlands and other threats. Protecting wetlands and reducing pollution, fishing line entanglements, and oil spills can help save the Horned Grebe. Though its numbers are decreasing, the species has potential for survival if its environment remains clean and breeding continues.
Sturgeon is the name of 27 common species. Sturgeon and Paddlefish are known as “Primitive fishes”. Sturgeon, also known as benthic feeders that means they will eat from the bottom of their habitat. You can save sturgeons by choosing certified sustainable seafood.

The Greater Flamingo is well known to those with an interest in wildlife like Tony Freeman. Found in parts of Asia, Africa and southern Europe, the Greater Flamingo is the most widespread of the flamingo family. Some populations migrate across short distances. Sightings to the north of the breeding range can be frequent. Nevertheless, given the Greater Flamingo's popularity in captivity, it is arguable that these examples may not be truly wild individuals. In 1988, a Greater Flamingo was spotted as far adrift as North Keeling Island.
He is doing this for Team Reptile for their web quest project. Imagine he is only 6 years old doing this kind of stuff. Amazing Technology works for curious intelligent children.

Kubernetes & AI - Beauty and the Beast !?! @KCD Istanbul 2024Tobias Schneck
As AI technology is pushing into IT I was wondering myself, as an “infrastructure container kubernetes guy”, how get this fancy AI technology get managed from an infrastructure operational view? Is it possible to apply our lovely cloud native principals as well? What benefit’s both technologies could bring to each other?
Let me take this questions and provide you a short journey through existing deployment models and use cases for AI software. On practical examples, we discuss what cloud/on-premise strategy we may need for applying it to our own infrastructure to get it to work from an enterprise perspective. I want to give an overview about infrastructure requirements and technologies, what could be beneficial or limiting your AI use cases in an enterprise environment. An interactive Demo will give you some insides, what approaches I got already working for real.

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Neuro-symbolic is not enough, we need neuro-*semantic*Frank van Harmelen
Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
All of this illustrated with link prediction over knowledge graphs, but the argument is general.

Horned grebe endangered
1.
2. The Horned Grebe has yellowish colored tuffs
‘horns’ behind its eyes. During breeding season its
red feathers come out and give it more of a
distinct look compared to other normal black and
white feathers that most birds have. They tend to
nest is shallow fresh water marshes and bays then
move to bigger cost lines during winter months.
Their diet consists of mostly various types of small
water creatures. Most of its
breeding range is located
from Ontario to British Columbia and north to Alaska.
3. It is not known for sure why the Horned Grebes
population is declining across North America. It is
suspected that populations are threatened by the
loss of wetlands to agriculture and development.
Recurring droughts across the prairies, oil spills and
being killed in fishing nets may also have an impact
on their decreasing population.
4. There are several ways you can help save species that
are endangered such as the Horned Grebe. Simple
things as just being cautious while out fishing or just not
polluting their homes. The government also helps to
protect species at risk by making laws.
For example:
In Quebec the Horned Grebe is protected under the
Quebec Act Respecting Threatened or Vulnerable
Species.
The Horned Grebe is also protected under the Migratory
Birds Convention Act, 1994, which prohibits harming
migratory birds, their nests or their eggs.
5. After doing research and learning all about the
Horned Grebe I think it has some chance of
survival. Even though they are slowly decreasing
if we keep breeding them and keeping their
environment clean they can grow. In the future if
we aren't careful on what areas we expand and
develop onto the Horned Grebe and lots of
species like it might die out or become
endangered too. In my opinion I think the Horned
Grebe still has lots of time left before they die out.
6.
While sleeping the
Horned Grebe will
place its neck onto its
back with its head off
to one side while
facing forward
The bird eats its own
feathers on a regular
basis so that its stomach
contains plugs which act
as a filtration system and
to store food such as fish
bones until digestion can
occur.
