Leatherback turtles are the largest turtles and can grow up to 8 feet and weigh almost a ton, with a leathery skin covering their shell. They lay between 50 to 170 eggs per batch on tropical beaches, potentially laying multiple batches. Green turtles migrate over 3,000 miles to graze on sea grass in Brazil once big enough to swim, after hatching on beaches.
