15. How long do solar panels last?
A PV system that is designed, installed, and maintained will operate for more than 25 years. In fact, we provide a 25-year
output warranty for all of your solar panels. Solar panels have no moving parts and can last more than 35 years. The best
way to ensure and extend the life and effectiveness of your PV system is by having it installed and maintained properly.

4. 16. How much maintenance do solar energy panels require?
Since there are no moving parts in the system, there’s no maintenance
required. We recommend a simple cleaning with a hose periodically to
ensure your system keeps running at peak performance.
17. What about my home value? Will solar have a negative or
positive effect?
This is a great question. There are two sides to this question:
– First, you’ll want to make sure that you go solar with an experienced

install the solar panels on your roof. Proper installation will ensure

– Second, now that we know the solar will be properly installed, there

18. When does the Federal Tax Credit for solar panels expire?
The 30% solar ITC (Federal or Investment Tax Credit) has been extended till
the end of 2019! The ITC will now continue at 30% until the end of 2019
for both homeowners and businesses, and then fall to 26 percent in 2020,
22 percent in 2021 and 10 percent in 2022. When you purchase your solar
system, the ITC is essentially a 30% discount on the cost of going solar.
19. Will my solar work if the power goes out?
Typically, your solar system will shut off automatically if the power goes out
to protect maintenance crews that might be working to fix the problem.

hours. If power goes out regularly in your area, we can discuss options with
you as there are ways to add batteries and specific products that can help
you maintain power during outages.
20. What happens if I sell my house?
If you have a PPA/lease on your solar system, you have several options:
– Your buyer can assume your PPA/lease in order to continue to
save money on their electric bills. Most buyers will appreciate the
opportunity to save money on their electricity bills, making it easier
for them to budget their household expenses.
– You can also buy-out your PPA/lease from the provider at that point, and
this should increase the sales price of your home.
If you own your solar system, it’s pretty simple:
– Solar increases the value of homes and should reduce the time
