2. Homeschooling Program in Bicol Region
Paulba Elementary School is the ONLY
public elementary school given
authority to offer Homeschooling
Program in the entire Bicol Region.
5. Program Management
Parents/Guardians
* Primary agent of the teaching-learning
process of their children including its design
and execution
* Monitor the work and progress of their
children

Ensure the enrollment of their children in a public or
private school authorized to offer the Homeschooling
Program, including the submission of relevant
documents for enrollment;

Ensure that their children shall undergo the K to 12
curriculum;
Prepare the learning plan for their children;
Prepare their children’s learning schedule for the
entire school year aligned with the school calendar;

standards set by DepEd;
Monitor the learning progress of the homeschool

learners to the teacher-adviser and/of learning area
teacher for possible intervention, if necessary;
Plan, direct and communicate academic and auxiliary
services available for the homeschool learners;

Serve as teacher-coach to parents/guardians
Ensure attendance of parents/guardians to school-

Let us begin with the good news: Paulba Elementary School is the only public elementary school in Bicol Region with the authority to offer Homeschooling Program.
Homeschooling Program is an Alternative Delivery Mode that can be offered by any public or private school in the Philippines.
It is designed primarily for learners who cannot regularly report to school due to medical condition, family situations, in difficult circumstances requiring more regular parental support and supervision, and for learners whose parents opt to educated their children at home by themselves.
Because the parents themselves manage the teaching-learning process, they are the primary agent of children’s learning. They design and executive lesson plans and monitor the work and progress of their children.

At the school level, the Homeschool Coordinator is designated by the school head to ”coordinate” with parents/guardians.

Aside from the homeschool coordinator, there shall be homeschool teacher-adviser and the usual learning area teachers.

As to the curriculum, Homeschooling Program shall follow the K to 12 curriculum.
As to Instruction, the learners qualified to be admitted to the program are the following:
The learning resources for the Homeschooling Program need to be aligned with the K to 12 curriculum. They can be textbooks, printed or digital copies of SLMs; tools, devices, equipment and manipulatives.
The learning environment primarily is the home however, homeschool learners can participate alongside other learners in other classes such as PE and other co- and extra-curricular activities in the school.
There is a required learning plan to be prepared by the parents/guardians. This plan can be weekly, monthly or quarterly whichever is applicable.
As to assessment, the ECD checklist is required for Kindergarten homeschool learners.
The Policy on Assessment as stipulated in DO 8, s. 2015 is to be followed.
To be able to offer the Homeschooling Program, a private school should secure a Permit to Offer while public schools need to secure Authorization to Offer all from the Regional Office.
The permit or authorization is valid for 2 years, revokable upon valid grounds.
Program availment begins with the parents/guardians signifying their intent to avail through a Letter of Intent. Only those residing in the Philippines can enroll.
Homeschooling agreement is crated and agreed upon. Learners with disabilities may enroll in the nearest SPED school offering Homeschooling Program.
All school implementers should have available learning materials for the homeschool learners.
