This document provides an overview of the last hours of Jesus' life before his crucifixion according to the Gospels. It describes Jesus arriving in Bethany six days before Passover, where Mary anoints his feet. It then discusses Judas agreeing to betray Jesus for money, Jesus' triumphal entry into Jerusalem, and his cleansing of the temple. The document continues recounting the Last Supper, Jesus praying in Gethsemane, his arrest, Peter denying him three times, and his trials before the Sanhedrin and Pilate who condemns him to death despite finding him innocent. Jesus is then mocked, forced to carry his cross, and crucified at Golgotha.
Have you ever been truly alone? Maybe you are surrounded by people but you still feel all alone. Imagine how Jesus felt all through life. He was alone in the wilderness, in the garden, during His trial and on the cross. But Christianity wasn't meant to be lived alone!

What prevents the non-believing world from truly knowing who Jesus is? (Jn. 1:10-12; 2 Cor. 2:14) Why didn’t Pilate know what Truth was when the One who is Truth was standing only a few feet from him? (John 18:33-38) Why didn’t the disciples understand who Christ was though they had spent three solid years with Him? Why didn’t the disciples on the Emmaus Road know who Jesus was though He had already risen from the dead and reports of His resurrection had been announced to His disciples? (Luke 24:13-35)

Embracing GenAI - A Strategic ImperativePeter Windle
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies such as Generative AI, Image Generators and Large Language Models have had a dramatic impact on teaching, learning and assessment over the past 18 months. The most immediate threat AI posed was to Academic Integrity with Higher Education Institutes (HEIs) focusing their efforts on combating the use of GenAI in assessment. Guidelines were developed for staff and students, policies put in place too. Innovative educators have forged paths in the use of Generative AI for teaching, learning and assessments leading to pockets of transformation springing up across HEIs, often with little or no top-down guidance, support or direction.
This Gasta posits a strategic approach to integrating AI into HEIs to prepare staff, students and the curriculum for an evolving world and workplace. We will highlight the advantages of working with these technologies beyond the realm of teaching, learning and assessment by considering prompt engineering skills, industry impact, curriculum changes, and the need for staff upskilling. In contrast, not engaging strategically with Generative AI poses risks, including falling behind peers, missed opportunities and failing to ensure our graduates remain employable. The rapid evolution of AI technologies necessitates a proactive and strategic approach if we are to remain relevant.

1. Glimpses of the last hours
of the life of Jesus Christ
HOLY
WEEK
2. The Anointing at Bethany (John 12:1-50)
Jn 12,1 Six days before the Passover Jesus came to
Bethany, the home of Lazarus, whom he had raised
from the dead. 2 There they gave a dinner for him.
Martha served, and Lazarus was one of those at
the table with him. 3 Mary took a pound of costly
perfume made of pure nard, anointed Jesus' feet,
and wiped them with her hair. The house was
filled with the fragrance of the perfume.
3. But Judas Iscariot, one of his
disciples (the one who was about
to betray him), said, "Why was
this perfume not sold for three
hundred denarii and the money
given to the poor?" (He said
this not because
he cared about the poor,
but because he was a thief;
he kept the common purse and
used to steal what was put into
it.) Jesus said, "Leave her alone.
She bought it so that she might
keep it for the day of my burial.
You always have
the poor with you, but you
do not always have me."
4. The conspiracy against Jesus
When Jesus had finished saying all these things, he said
to his disciples, 2 "You know that after two days the
Passover is coming, and the Son of Man will be handed
over to be crucified." 3 Then the chief priests and the elders
of the people gathered in the palace of the high priest, who
was called Caiaphas, 4 and they conspired to arrest Jesus by
stealth and kill him. 5 But they said, "Not during the festival,
or there may be a riot among the people." Matthew 26:1
5. they brought the donkey and the colt, and put their cloaks on them, and he sat on them. 8 A very large
crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road.
9 The crowds that went ahead of him and that followed were shouting, "Hosanna to the Son of David!
Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest heaven!" 10 When he
entered Jerusalem, the whole city was in turmoil, asking, "Who is this?" 11 The crowds were saying,
"This is the prophet Jesus from Nazareth in Galilee." Mt 21,7
The triumphal entry
into Jerusalem
6. The cleansing of the temple
Then Jesus entered the temple and drove out all who were selling
and buying in the temple, and he overturned the tables of the money
changers and the seats of those who sold doves. He said to them,
"It is written, 'My house shall be called a house of prayer';
but you are making it a den of robbers." Mt 21,12
7. Now before the festival of the Passover, Jesus knew that his hour had
come to depart from this world and go to the Father. Having loved
his own who were in the world, he loved them to the end. Jn13, 1
The washing of the apostles’ feet
8. Pedro no lo acepta
Peter said to him, "You will never wash my feet."
Jesus answered, "Unless I wash you, you have no share
with me." Simon Peter said to him, "Lord, not my feet
only but also my hands and my head!" Jn 13,8
9. After he had washed
their feet, had put on his
robe, and had returned
to the table, he said to
them, "Do you know
what I have done to
you? 13 You call me
Teacher and Lord--and
you are right, for that is
what I am. 14 So if I,
your Lord and Teacher,
have washed your feet,
you also ought to wash
one another's feet.
Jn 13,12
The
commandment
of love
10. and while they were eating, he said,
"Truly I tell you, one of you will betray me."
And they became greatly distressed and
began to say to him one after another,
"Surely not I, Lord?" He answered,
"The one who has dipped his hand
into the bowl with me will betray me.
The Son of Man goes as it is written of him,
but woe to that one by whom
the Son of Man is betrayed! Mt 26,21
The conspiracy
against Jesus
11. The Institution
of the Eucharist
While they were eating, Jesus took a loaf of bread, and after blessing it he broke it, gave it to the
disciples, and said, "Take, eat; this is my body." 27 Then he took a cup, and after giving thanks he
gave it to them, saying, "Drink from it, all of you; 28 for this is my blood of the covenant, which is
poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. 29 I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit
of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom." Mt 26,26
12. Then he said to them, "I am deeply grieved, even to death; remain here, and stay awake with me." 39 And
going a little farther, he threw himself on the ground and prayed, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup
pass from me; yet not what I want but what you want." 40 Then he came to the disciples and found them
sleeping; and he said to Peter, "So, could you not stay awake with me one hour? 41 Stay awake and pray
that you may not come into the time of trial; the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak."
he went away and prayed …, saying the same words. 45 Then he came to the disciples and
said to them, "Are you still sleeping and taking your rest? See, the hour is at hand, Mt 26,38
Gethsemane
13. At once he came up to Jesus
and said, "Greetings, Rabbi!"
and kissed him. 50 Jesus said
to him, "Friend, do what you
are here to do." Then they
came and laid hands on Jesus
and arrested him. 55 At that
hour Jesus said to the crowds,
"Have you come out with
swords and clubs to arrest me
as though I were a bandit?
Day after day I sat in the
temple teaching, and you did
not arrest me. 56 But all this
has taken place, so that the
scriptures of the prophets may
be fulfilled." Then all the
disciples deserted him
and fled. Mt 26,49 ."
Judas’ Kiss
14. Jesus before the sanhedrin
But Jesus was silent. Then the high priest said to him, "I put you under oath before the living God, tell
us if you are the Messiah, the Son of God." 64 Jesus said to him, "You have said so. but I tell you, from
now on you will see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of Power and coming on the clouds of
heaven." 65 Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has blasphemed! Why do we still need
witnesses? You have now heard his blasphemy. 66 What is your verdict?" They answered,
"He deserves death." 67 Then they spat in his face and struck him; and some slapped him,
68 saying, "Prophesy to us, you Messiah! Who is it that struck you?" Mt 26,68
15. After a little while the
bystanders came up and
said to Peter, "Certainly
you are also one of
them, for your accent
betrays you." Then he
began to curse, and he
swore an oath, "I do
not know the man!" Mt 26,73
Peter denies Christ
16. At that moment
the cock crowed.
Then Peter
remembered
what Jesus had
said: "Before the
cock crows, you
will deny me
three times."
And he went out
and wept bitterly.
17. JESUS BEFORE PILATE
Now Jesus stood before the
governor; and the governor
asked him, "Are you the King
of the Jews?" Jesus said,
"You say so." 12 But when
he was accused by the chief
priests and elders, he did not
answer. 13 Then Pilate said to
him, "Do you not hear how
many accusations they make
against you?" 14 But he gave
him no answer, not even to
a single charge, so that the
governor was greatly amazed.
Mt 27,11
18. Then Pilate entered the headquarters again, summoned Jesus,
and asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" 34 Jesus answered,
"Do you ask this on your own, or did others tell you about me?"
35 Pilate replied, "I am not a Jew, am I? Your own nation and the
chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?"
19. 36 Jesus answered, - "My
kingdom is not from this
world. If my kingdom were
from this world, my
followers would be fighting
to keep me from being
handed over to the Jews. But
as it is, my kingdom is not
from here." 37 Pilate asked
him, "So you are a king?"
Jesus answered, "You say
that I am a king. For this I
was born, and for this I
came into the world, to
testify to the truth. Everyone
who belongs to the truth
listens to my voice." Jn 18,33
20. While he was sitting on the
judgment seat, his wife sent
word to him, "Have nothing to
do with that innocent man, for
today I have suffered a great
deal because of a dream
about him.” Mt 27,19
21. Barabbas
Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to have Jesus
killed. 21 The governor again said to them, "Which of the two do you want me to release for you?"
And they said, "Barabbas." 22 Pilate said to them, "Then what should I do with Jesus who is called
the Messiah?" All of them said, "Let him be crucified!“ 23 Then he asked, "Why, what evil
has he done?" But they shouted all the more, "Let him be crucified!"
22. So when Pilate saw that he could do nothing,
but rather that a riot was beginning, he took some
water and washed his hands before the crowd,
saying, "I am innocent of this man's blood; see to it
yourselves.“ 25 Then the people as a whole answered,
"His blood be on us and on our children!”Mt 27,20
23. So he released Barabbas for them;
and after flogging Jesus, he handed
him over to be crucified. Mt 27,26
24. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters, and they
gathered the whole cohort around him. 28 They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,
29 and after twisting some thorns into a crown, they put it on his head. They put a reed in
his right hand and knelt before him and mocked him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
30 They spat on him, and took the reed and struck him on the head. Mt 27,27
JESUS IS MOCKED BY THE SOLDIERS
25. Carrying the cross by himself,
he went out to what is called
the Place of the Skull, which in
Hebrew is called Golgotha Jn 19,17
30. The
women of
Jerusalem
wept for
Jesus
Lk 23,27 A great number of the people followed him, and among them were women who were beating
their breasts and wailing for him. 28 But Jesus turned to them and said, "Daughters of Jerusalem, do
not weep for me, but weep for yourselves and for your children. 29 For the days are surely coming
when they will say, 'Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bore, and the breasts that never
nursed.' 30 Then they will begin to say to the mountains, 'Fall on us'; and to the hills, 'Cover us.‘
31 For if they do this when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?"
31. Mt 27,33 And when they came to a place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull),
34 they offered him wine to drink, mixed with gall; but when he tasted it, he would not drink it.
33. And when they had crucified him, they divided his
clothes among themselves by casting lots. Mt 27,35
.
.
34. Over his head they
put the charge
against him, which
read, "This is
Jesus, the King of
the Jews." Mt 27,37
35. standing near the cross of Jesus were his mother, and his mother's
sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. Jn 19,25
36. When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple whom he loved
standing beside her, he said to his mother, "Woman, here is your son."
Then he said to the disciple, "Here is your mother." And from
that hour the disciple took her into his own home. Jn 19,26
37. After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished, he said
(in order to fulfill the scripture), "I am thirsty." 29 A jar full of
sour wine was standing there. So they put a sponge full of the
wine on a branch of hyssop and held it to his mouth. Jn 19,28
38. Those who passed
by derided him,
shaking their
heads and saying,
"You who would
destroy the temple
and build it in
three days, save
yourself! If you
are the Son of
God, come down
from the cross."
Mt 27,39
40. Lk 23,39 One of the criminals who were hanged there kept deriding him and saying, "Are
you not the Messiah? Save yourself and us!" 40 But the other rebuked him, saying, "Do you
not fear God, since you are under the same sentence of condemnation? 41 And we indeed have
been condemned justly, for we are getting what we deserve for our deeds, but this man has
done nothing wrong." 42 Then he said, "Jesus, remember me when you come into your
kingdom." 43 He replied, "Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in Paradise." Lk 23,39
41. And about three o'clock Jesus cried with a loud
voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that is,
"My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" Mt 27,46
42. When Jesus had received the wine,
he said, "It is finished."
Then he bowed his head
and gave up his spirit. Jn19,30
43. Then Jesus, crying with
a loud voice, said,
"Father, into your hands
I commend my spirit."
Having said this, he
breathed his last. Lc 23, 46
44. At that moment the curtain of the temple was torn in two,
from top to bottom. The earth shook, and the rocks were split.
The tombs also were opened, and many bodies of the saints
who had fallen asleep were raised. Mt 27,51
45. Now when the centurion and
those with him, who were
keeping watch over Jesus,
saw the earthquake and what
took place, they were terrified
47. …But when they came to Jesus
and saw that he was already dead,
they did not break his legs.
Instead, one of the soldiers pierced
his side with a spear, and at once
blood and water came out. Jn 19,33
48. When it was evening, there came a rich
man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who
was also a disciple of Jesus. He went to
Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus;
then Pilate ordered it to be given to him.
49. So Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and
laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn in the rock. He then
rolled a great stone to the door of the tomb and went away. Mt 27,57
50. Nicodemus, who had at first come to
Jesus by night, also came, bringing
a mixture of myrrh and aloes,
weighing about a hundred pounds.
51. They took the body of Jesus and wrapped it with the spices in linen
cloths, according to the burial custom of the Jews. Jn 19,39
52. the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered before Pilate and said, "Sir, we
remember what that impostor said while he was still alive, 'After three days I will rise
again. Therefore command the tomb to be made secure until the third day; otherwise
his disciples may go and steal him away, and tell the people, 'He has been raised from
the dead,' and the last deception would be worse than the first." Pilate said to them,
"You have a guard of soldiers; go, make it as secure as you can." So they went
with the guard and made the tomb secure by sealing the stone. Mt 27,62
