Era of the Holy SpiritChristians in general agree that we are living in the era of the Holy Spirit.
 Some Churches overemphasis it – preach it as the only doctrine.Era of the Holy Spirit Some Churches ignore the Holy Spirit coz of the attention given by others to the topic.
 Others believe in the Holy Spirit and teach it like any other doctrine.The Bible Says ...Who is the Holy Spirit? What does the Bible say?  I believe that our study will lead us to a higher understanding of the Holy Spirit.
I hope we will receive the Holy Spirit and be empowered to complete His task.Three Part Study Holy Spirit in the Old & the New Testament.
 Holy Spirit – The Former and the Latter Rain
 Holy Spirit – Receiving the Latter Rain Holy Spirit in the Old Testament “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form and void; … And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.” Gen. 1 : 1, 2The Holy Spirit was involved in the Creation.
 He was in the beginning … in fact He has no beginning, He is the beginning.
After the Holy Spirit moved upon the waters – the entire earth  (as the earth was covered with water) He gave His feasibility report.  Holy Spirit & Creation “Then God said, Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…”  Gen. 1 26 Man was created in the likeness of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
Its so powerful to know that we were made with a capacity to interact with … connect with the Holy Trinity.   Holy Spirit & Samson How would you draw Samson?  The man who killed a lion with bare hands, one who carried the gates of a city ...
People kept asking him to tell them the source of his strength.
 Physically Samson was an ordinary looking person.
“And the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him, and he tore the lion apart …” Judges 14: 6
The Spirit gave Samson supernatural strength and courage. Holy Spirit & Saul Prophet Samuel anointed 	Saul to be the King.
He gives Saul signs to confirm that the anointing is from the Lord.
One of the signs was ...“Then the Spirit of God will come upon you. And you will prophesy with them and be turned into another man.” 1 Sam. 10 : 6Saul began to prophesy. The Holy Spirit revealed to him the future. He was counted among the prophets.
 The Spirit was to transform Saul into what God wanted him to be.   King Cyrus of Persia King Cyrus of Persia – In his first year decreed that Jews in Babylon can return and rebuild Jerusalem and the Temple.
 Around 43, 000 people responded to the call
 The very next year, Zerubbabel  and those able began to rebuild the sanctuary of God.
The task was impossible – they did not have the construction material like King Solomon, the neighbors opposed their efforts, they themselves were often discouraged. Holy Spirit & The ProphetsZerubbabel was given this assurance as he undertook this great task of rebuilding Solomon’s Temple“Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts.” Zec.4:6The Holy Spirit empowered Zerubbabel to finish the task he was asked to begin. Only by the Holy SpiritGod is very plain. When you are willing to be involved in His work then ...
 His work CANNOT be done by might – human strength and abilities.
 His work CANNOT be done by power – human authority, money and influence.
 If His Work is done by the anointing of the Holy Spirit - then we will accomplish the purposes of Heaven.   It is Best to do His Work with His anointing.
