Graphic design is a design field that has recently become more concerned with environmental and social change and responsibility. As graphic design could be applied and manifested in numerous forms, it could be presented through designing systems, mapping, interface between product and consumer, information about an event, packaging, and more. Design could be described as a “system” where the perspectives of others are included and life cycle is considered (Jedlicka, 2010).
This paper examines how design can effectively direct and enhance a community member’s sustainable behavior. This paper presents the concept of sustainability and the impact of graphic design practices and products on changing our lifestyle to become more sustainable with more sustainable practices and attitudes as practitioners and consumers as well.
Examples of design for change will also be presented in this paper; first, academic examples of sustainable design education that reflects design as learning process and the education process as a tool for change. Second is a professional presentation of design practitioners and websites as design products, including campaigns with responsible and sustainable environmental practices within the graphic design community.
Key Words: Sustainability, Environmental Ethics, Sustainable Behavior, Sustainable Graphic Design and Graphic Design Education.

Studies show that sustainable learning environments can be a big advantage for students, improving their well-being, happiness and even their cognitive processes. But how can parents ensure that their children’s classrooms are as green as they can be.
Themes do emerge: good daylight and indoor air quality predominate; a link between indoors and out is strongly asserted; and the use of benign materials is paramount. But this is no more than what good school design has always aimed for.

The author argues that while the term "transformation" is used frequently in discussions of Building Schools for the Future (BSF), there is little clarity around what exactly it means and how it can be achieved. Current education standards and metrics may restrict truly transformative changes. To truly transform education, learners must be actively involved in co-designing new schools and learning experiences through BSF, rather than having changes imposed on them from above. Embedding learner voice through meaningful participation could help design learning spaces that support innovative theories of learning and prepare students for the 21st century.

Assuming complexity: school as an ecosystem and its implications for the deve...Fernando Trujillo Sáez
This document discusses education as a complex ecosystem and the implications for developing student communicative competence. It argues that education is an unresolved practice that requires continuous work and movement. The school is viewed as a living ecosystem where education involves performance. CLIL is presented as a new consolidated object and language that motivates many teachers when implemented effectively by focusing on achievement, recognition, responsibility and growth. Key skills are developed through tasks and integrated projects involving cooperation, digital literacy, research projects, gaming, entrepreneurship, and service learning. Universities can support these efforts by providing open educational resources and cooperation.
EDTECH 554 - Providing professional development for teachers copyTeresa Froehlke
The document outlines a proposed professional development workshop for teachers on project based learning. The workshop will be conducted over 1.5 days by an outside organization. It will teach teachers the pedagogical underpinnings of project based learning and how to apply it across disciplines while integrating standards. Learning will be measured through pre/post assessments and surveys. The goals are for teachers to adopt a project based approach in their classrooms and move to tier 3 technology integration, with students actively engaged in individual and collaborative technology use. This workshop aims to improve teacher effectiveness and differentiate instruction to better serve all learners.
The SHARE Project at Nottingham Trent University aims to encourage sharing of educational resources by faculty. It takes a collaborative approach, gathering input from representatives across the university on metadata schemas, permissions, and training. This document discusses the need for changes to engineering education in Malaysia given globalization and rapid technological changes. It argues that engineering programs need to shift from a traditional teaching model to a student-centered model focused on developing skills like complex problem solving, innovation, collaboration, and lifelong learning. Specific changes proposed include incorporating more project-based and collaborative learning, integrating real-world projects, promoting entrepreneurship, enhancing technology-enabled learning, and creating immersive learning environments on campus. The goal is to prepare engineers for an increasingly globalized, digital world and knowledge economy.
- The Stanford d.school aims to teach design thinking and methodology to students from all disciplines through multidisciplinary project teams. This allows each student to contribute their unique knowledge and skills while developing empathy for other fields and design processes.
- Design is positioned as the "glue" that holds multidisciplinary teams together by providing a common non-threatening process focused on research, prototyping, and iteration. Students with design thinking skills act as facilitators to help diverse teams overcome barriers and focus on innovation.

This document provides an overview of a Year 11 Environmental Mission unit. It outlines how the unit is designed using Bloom's Taxonomy to encourage higher-order thinking and problem-based learning. The unit aligns with the Queensland Science Curriculum and focuses on human impact on the environment, landscape rehabilitation, and environmental monitoring. Students will analyze and synthesize information, design and illustrate solutions, and create an e-portfolio to demonstrate their learning. Technology is integrated using SAMR levels, from substitution to redefinition, and constructivism and connectivism learning theories support the student-centered collaborative project approach.

How to Make a Field Mandatory in Odoo 17Celine George
In Odoo, making a field required can be done through both Python code and XML views. When you set the required attribute to True in Python code, it makes the field required across all views where it's used. Conversely, when you set the required attribute in XML views, it makes the field required only in the context of that particular view.

01 Southwark’s Primary Estate
This commission was for a 15-year
renewal plan for the whole estate of
72 primary school sites in the London
Borough of Southwark. The plan is about
improving education and building stock
together, and providing the largest
investment in primary schools in this part
of London since the Second World War.
The plan compiled a large amount of data,
including the following:
› Expected demand for primary school
places over the next 15 years
› Desirable educational models for
primary education
› Existing available space, suitability and
condition of the estate
› Opportunities for expansion and
rationalisation
01 Modernising Victorian schools

costed options were produced for the
improvement of the estate. The options
weighed up a scale of ambition against
important issues of deliverability, for
example the role played by faith schools.
The plans also looked at opportunities for:
› Commercial development in support of
educational aims
› Land-swaps between different Borough
departments, for example education
and leisure
› Renewal of existing building stock
