The Millau viaduct in southern France is the highest bridge in the world. It stands 1,125 feet tall and is supported by 7 large pillars that reach heights of 803 feet. Over 350,000 tons of concrete and 40,000 tons of steel were used to construct the 8,071 foot long bridge, which cost around $523 million. The bridge cuts over 60 miles off the route connecting cities in northern and southern France.
