High School Musical Stage Version was written by David Simpatico and premiered in 2006 in the USA. It is set in modern day Albuquerque, New Mexico and follows Troy, the basketball team captain, and Gabriella, a new smart student. They meet at a ski lodge and discover a shared love of singing. At their high school, they face competition from Sharpay and Ryan Evans for the leads in the upcoming musical. Troy and Gabriella must balance their new relationship, the musical callbacks, and other school commitments like basketball games and academic decathlons.

3. Synopsis
Set in East High school but it kicks off in a ski lodge with
Troy Bolton a Basketball jock and Gabriella Montez who
has just moved here, get dragged up to sing kareoke
meeting for the first time. It's New years eve and they
end up asking for eachother's numbers. Back to the
school year Gabriella has been transferred to East High
and Troy shows her around. The drama club which is
where we are introduced by Sharpay and Ryan Evans
who practically run the club as they are always main
characters in the musicals. Taylor Mckessie discovers
how smart Gabriella is and convinces her to join the
Scholastic Decathlon. Both Troy and Gabriella go to
watch the auditions for the musical but they're to late to
audtion Kelsie the composer trips and they both help her
and sing the real version of the song she just played and
Ms Darbus gives them a callback.

4. The callbacks list goes up and Sharpary and Ryan
discover they have some competition. The rest of
the wildcats are shocked that they auditioned and
other students start confessing their hidden
talents. But then Gabriella and troy decided to just
focus on their other competion and not the musical
as it is driving the school insane.Then they
decided to go for the callback. Sharpay being
scared of her competion she asks Ms Darbus to
change the day of the callback on the same day as
thebasketball game and Scholastic decathalon so
they can't make it. They come up with a plan to
make it and mess with the electrics on the score
board so then everyone rushes to the hall and
Troy and Gabriella sing.They get the roles and
Ryan and Sharpay are understudies. Troy and
Gabriella win their other competitions and break
out in a song to celebrate.

Historical
It is set in the present day in America. In a
high school were there is so many
friendship groups, majority of people are
working class.

7. Geographical
Set in the modern day high school in
Albuquerque, New Mexico, some scenes
are in Gabriella's room. It is always sunny.

8. Society.
Everyone was working class, Sharpay and
Ryan's family are rich from their highly
paid jobs. Troy's dad is the coach for the
Wildcats. No one is poor they are just
regular people with working class parents.

Troy Bolton
The wildcat captain, popular guy
round school and meets a girl
called Gabriella and falls for her,
he loves basketball but enjoys
performing too so he is torn
between what to do. His Father is
the coach of the basketball team.

She has just moved to East high and
is a smart girl, she joins the
Scholastic decathlon after school
club and meets Troy and falls for
him, she always enjoys performing
and is bestfriends with Taylor
Mckessie the captain of the
Scholastic Decathalon club.

He is Troy's bestfriend, he
takes a fancy to Taylor
Mckessie and wants a career
in Basketball at first he didn't
think it was right for Troy to
like singing but he warms up
to the idea.

12. Sharpay Evans
She is head of the drama club
and wants to perform for the
rest of her life, her brother
ryan is a performer as well and
they are twins. She is evil
when it comes to protecting
what she wants, she likes to
play dirty. Her mother and
father are rich.

13. Ryan Evans
He is Sharpay's twin, he
enjoys performing too he
isn't as evil as his sister
but still can be when he
wants to be. He really just
concentrates on
performing. His mother
and father are rich. He is
also head of the drama
club with Sharpay.

She is the head of Scholastic
decathalon club, she gets
feelings for Chad towards
the end and becomes
bestfriends with Gabriella.
She knows everything about
East high.

15. Zeke Baylor
He is in the wildcats he is good
friends with Chad and Troy
he comes across as a kiss up
and unintellegent, he has a
hidden talent that he can
cook. He likes Sharpay.

16. Kelsie Nelson
She is the composer of the
winter musical, she plays
the piano and is very quiet,
she can stand up for herself
towards the end and wants
Troy and Gabriella to get the
lead roles.

17. Ideas
The set is the school canteen and there is a
balcony for Sharpay to look at everyone in Stick
to the status quo and Troy to run away from his
troubles, 2 school tables always in the
background to role forward in that section and
move back when there not need.
A score board for the ending basketball match to
just come down.
Background noise of an audience cheering them
on at the basketball match.
