WORK EXPERIENCE
2015 July up to date
Currently working at North Western Water Supply and Sewerage Company Limited in Solwezi,
Zambia as a GIS Technician. I update and maintain the GIS database using GIS related software.
Assist in developing and implementing GIS applications for database maintenance, map output
and further development of spatial datasets and databases. Use GIS applications to query, analyze,
display and interpret department GIS databases. Also assist the IT Officer with Microsoft Server/
Network administration and trouble shooting. Which involves running, maintaining, updating and
regular back up of the servers. Took part in the Solwezi Urban Baseline Study as a co-coordinator
August 2012 to June 2015
worked at the Provincial Centre for Geographic Information Services/ Survey Department
Choma, southern province under Ministry of Lands. I worked as an I.T Personal/ G.I.S expert
were I regulary performed updates, backups and maintaining of the geographic information
system (GIS) database and the GIS software itself. I take care of all the hardware and software
equipment at the center (i.e. network, antivirus, printers, computers, wireless router, switches and
scanner)
My work also involved mapping using software called Arc G.I.S and other G.I.S software’s were
I do digitizing, georefrencing and generating of maps, plotting on a0 plotter. The centre is
currently worked on a project with ZICTA and the Livingstone City Council called National
Addressing and Postcode Project. My department offered all the mapping needed during the
project and I was one of the supervisors for the project. The Pilot phase was in Livingstone and
Chief Mukuni’s area in Preparation for the UNWTHO summit.
