Heri Adventist Hospital is located near Lake Tanganyika in Tanzania, a few kilometers from the Burundi border. The hospital has been conducting evangelism and fostering church growth in the area since 1961, with thousands of Adventist members now in the local catchment area. Facilities include dormitory-style rooms for patient families to stay as well as outpatient clinics in 7 nearby towns. However, the general wards and old hospital buildings are in poor condition and need upgrading. The patient to nurse ratio also exceeds government requirements, so strengthening the nursing department is urgently needed. Various medical equipment upgrades are also required, and the roof recently blew off requiring repair.
