Dear friend
Today I write to you with a full heart and glad that
I am here in Africa to serve and to help those who
are saying ‘come over and help us’.
The Adventist Health System continues to expand
in East Central Africa. There are 7 hospitals and
169 clinics in this region.
The dedicated doctors and nurses work in remote
places sometimes without adequate facilities, equip-
ment and tools. Yet they say ‘God called us and we
will not leave until He tells us.’ This is true com-
mitment.
In some hospitals there is no running water, bath-
rooms or bedding. Patients bring their own sheets
or blankets. Families bring the food. In some places
patients are turned away because there are no medicines or proper equipment to
help.
In the past Adventist hospitals had the reputation of being the best on the continent
of Africa. We want to revive and keep that image and let people know about Jesus
and have hope for the future. We can do it with your help.
Mwilambwe is one grateful man who has returned home with his wife and baby with
a restored face and life due to the good surgery of Doctor Tabaranza in Lubumbashi,
DR Congo. He was found in time, your donations helped and he can now breathe and
eat well.
I invite you to join me in this exciting ministry in Africa. Joy Butler
