The writer makes a bunch of comparisons between the Old Covenant and the New, mainly emphasizing the supremacy of Jesus …greater than Angels, greater than Moses, etc. Maybe we aren’t considering going back to the Jewish way of worshipping God, but this is great news anyway: Jesus and the Big House. THE CIRCUMSTANCES FOR THE LETTER HAVE CHANGED, BUT THE CORE MESSAGE IS TIMELESS

9. JESUS, THE APOSTLE (3:1) “ Apostle” means ‘one who is sent’, implying he is sent with authority, power and a message. WOW! What a message. With Jesus, the medium is the Message! What God wants to tell us is all wrapped up in the life, words and heart of Jesus. • I love you. • I want you to live with me forever. • I’m ready to forgive you of all wrong doing. And my Son has made a way to my Big House for you.

10. The High Priest stood before God, making sacrifices on behalf of the people and speaking to God on their behalf. Jesus did that job superbly! WONDERFUL, AMAZING CONCLUSIONS… ● There is no need to check my pedigree…even half-breeds and mutts like me are invited to hold a key to God’s house. ● There are no second-class citizens in God’s Forever Family…or in the mansion to be revealed. ● Although we are required to ‘keep our courage remain confident in our hope in Christ’ (3:6), such faithfulness will be well worth our while. ● We are free (actually commanded) to make God’s invitation known to everybody we can . There is plenty of room for the whole big world.
