We have superimposed alper Yagmur, owner of el Chico's Mexican restaurant (see review - p12), who became hero to many by organising deliveries of bottled water to elderly folk and others who couldn't make it to the delivery points when the water went out. When his restaurant’s water was cut he and his staff decided to work instead for the benefit of the community and we salute that! Do you have a local hero (with, or without, cape) you think should be celebrated? Get in touch: info@heartstreatham.

Press Release - Invisible Disease June 21, 2024Purdue Global
Invisible Disease
PRESS RELEASE: 21 June 2024 / Lenawee County
When I moved my family to Clinton Village in 2021, I had no idea how much our lives would change. I was drawn in by the cute Victorian homes, and the historical presence of the rural community. Little did I know that the reality of a family like mine moving into the community would have so many immediate negative repercussions. Despite my love of our new home and the idealism of a country lifestyle, only a few people wanted us to share in their same happiness. Life over the past couple of years has changed drastically.
We first came to Michigan to take care of my then nine-year-old son Ben. Ben was diagnosed with incurable brain cancer at the age of 2. He has had three reocurrences and one aneurysm during that time. In 2020, he had his last reocurrence which resulted in seven weeks of gamma knife radiation treatment to a little over a quarter of his brain in the front left parietal lobe. The remaining scar tissue affects various aspects of the brain. He also has 36 staples, bolts, and plates in his brain and parts that are keeping his skull together.
Ben looks like a regular boy. His disease is what we call invisible because to look at him, you would never know he has brain trauma. He is the epitome of a cancer warrior! I thought Clinton Village was perfect for us. The motto is exactly what I’ve always said about Raising Ben. “It takes a Village.”
My naivete was shattered because of the constant turmoil we’ve encountered with the Clinton school system, The Village Inc. and the local police. The problems started immediately after living in the village for only a few weeks. The police became a consistent presence at our front door, prompted by our neighbors who felt we needed formal reprimands for a variety of reasons which included having a dangerous carport, owning a loud pocket dirt bike, and complaints that our front and backyard lawns were apparently too long. These are just a few of the supposed violations that were cited by our neighbors and that compelled them to report us to The Village headquarters and/or the police department.
During this time, we as a family tried to be good neighbors, were always friendly, smiled, said hello, and continued to offer baked goods whenever possible. They weren’t having it!
The Clinton elementary school held an IEP meeting, upon my request, to help Ben in school when we arrived in 2021. Ben had a few minor needs that required attention such as additional breaks during class time to give his over-stimulated brain a rest, extra help on assignments, assistance from a paraprofessional a few hours a day for redirecting and fine motor skill attention, as well as ADHD and non grand mal seizures (Epilepsy). The control factor for the implementation of Ben’s IEP is ongoing. He needs brakes when he feels overwhelmed, and that time cannot be scheduled.

HR STRATEGIES AND EMPLOYEE OUTCOMES: A STUDY ON COMPENSATION, APPRAISAL, RECO...indexPub
This study examines the relationship between HR practices and employee outcomes in order to provide insight into the crucial role HR practices play in organisational dynamics. The results show that HR procedures significantly affect workers' engagement with their work and their ability to decide whether or not to stay with their current employer. In order to improve staff retention rates and achieve sustained organisational effectiveness, this study's findings stress the significance of well-crafted human resource policies. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to investigate the multifaceted relationship between human resource practices and employee outcomes, specifically focusing on compensation, performance appraisal, and recognition programs. By delving into these dynamics, the research aims to enhance our understanding of how these HR strategies influence job embeddedness and the intention to quit among employees, ultimately providing valuable insights for organizations to optimize their HR policies and employee retention strategies. Design/Methodology: This research adopts a quantitative approach, utilizing a structured survey instrument administered to a diverse sample of employees across various industries. Data collected will be analyzed using advanced statistical techniques, including regression analysis, to examine the associations between compensation, performance appraisal, recognition programs, job embeddedness, and intention to quit. Additionally, qualitative data such as open-ended responses will be analyzed to gain deeper insights into employee perceptions and experiences. Findings: Reveal significant correlations are identified as key determinants of job embeddedness, with higher levels of job satisfaction and commitment associated with these practices. Moreover, employees exposed to effective HR strategies exhibit a decreased intention to quit, highlighting the role of these practices in retaining talent. The study also identifies nuanced interactions between these variables, shedding light on the complexity of HR practices' impact on employee attitudes and behaviours. Practical Implications: By recognizing the importance of compensation, performance appraisal, and recognition programs in promoting job embeddedness and reducing intention to quit, organizations can design and implement more effective HR policies. This, in turn, can lead to improved employee retention rates, increased job satisfaction, and ultimately contribute to organizational success and stability. Originality/Value: The originality of this research lies in its ability to provide organizations with a comprehensive understanding of the interconnectedness of these variables, thus offering valuable insights and practical recommendations for HR practitioners and organizational leaders striving to retain talent and foster a positive workplace culture.

We’ve had numerous complaints from cyclists
about Arriva parking buses parked along the
High Road outside their garage in Streatham
Hill. It seems there’s one rule for us, but that rule
doesn’t apply to bus operators as the High Road
becomes a bus park at nights. This, combined
with buses entering and leaving both the garage
and bus stops, makes that stretch treacherous
for cyclists and drivers alike. We urge TfL to look
at this issue and find a better, sensible solution.

CROSSRAIL 2 for STREATHAM!
Streatham could be on the verge of something
transformational. Events have come together
with serendipity in a way that could bring back
the “West End of South London” sobriquet to
Streatham once again.
It's an outside chance, but the chance is there,
and requires all of us to press the powers that
be to make these things happen. Without further
ado, here are the facts as we understand them.
Morrison's own the freehold of their store by
Streatham Station. They are now motivated to
sell for potential redevelopment.
TfL intend to move the Crossrail 2 route from
Tooting Broadway to the east because of
geological challenges. The proposed new route
is from Wood Green via Balham. Crossrail 2
is intended
to alleviate
congestion on
the Northern
Line. There is
a strong case
to lobby to
bring Crossrail
to Streatham
Station in
place of
Balham,
which better
achieves
Crossrail 2
aims in several
ways.
Moving the
station to
Streatham
alleviates
many
thousands of
passengers
travelling
daily from
Streatham
Common (the
6th busiest in
London) and
Streatham Hill stations and others down the line
via Streatham stations to Balham specifically
to join the Northern Line. We need journey
data from Network Rail and TfL to quantify this
properly.
We know, based on figures TfL has shared
with us, around 35,000 people travel in buses
up the A23 every day to the Victoria Line at
Brixton. Access to Crossrail 2 would obviate
the need for many of these journeys, as well as
similar journeys westward to the Northern line
from Streatham and its hinterland in one fell
swoop, thus alleviating existing road congestion
problems and pollution.
A Crossrail station between Streatham Common
Station and Streatham Station would provide
accessibility to a wide geographical area that is
poorly served by public transport, from Crown

Point/West Norwood borders all the way to
the Streatham Vale/Mitcham borders; from
Furzedown and Tooting, to Norbury.
This is also a rather better regeneration
proposition than siting a Crossrail Station at
prosperous Balham, 1/6th the size of this area,
and which is an easy walk to two other Tube
stations.
So what does Morrison's have to do with this?
Glad you asked. Morrison's buying out their
freehold means the site can be redeveloped.
Lambeth and TfL-owned adjacent properties
could potentially be added to the site. A
big re-development generates “Community
Infrastructure Levy” (CIL) and if re-developed
into a reasonably sized shopping centre
(investors are interested and the site is big
enough), together with new homes, the CIL
and local authority contribution could make a
Streatham Crossrail station attractive to TfL.
Balham, on the other hand, doesn't have big
developments of this scale on the cards, so we
have a strong hand to play. It's not a sure thing
but it moves the needle from the "definitely
impossible" to the realm of the "possible." This
is where you come in.
There is also the possibility that the line could
go from Streatham to Wimbledon via a new
station at Tooting railway station, with obvious
superior regeneration benefits over the Balham
option. Not to mention serving thousands
Tooting Graveney/Figges Marsh commuters who
currently use the Northern Line.
This is where you come in
Nothing will happen unless the community unite
to pressure the enablers to do their jobs. The
first important item is that Lambeth Council
needs to get behind this in a big way and
engage TfL soonest.
Respond to the consultation on proposals
for the new route is about to begin as we go to
press. Keep an eye on www.crossrail2.co.uk,
www.heartstreatham.co.uk and
@heartstreatham on twitter for details of how.
Write to your councillor, insisting they move on
this now!
Write to your MP, Chuka Umunna, and engage
people to write to Sadiq Khan in Tooting, Helen
Hayes in West Norwood, Siobhan McDonagh
in Merton and Steve Reed in Croydon North
as all these constituencies will gain from this
alternative.
The first “Bring the Tube to Streatham”
campaign kicked off in 1926 and each
successive campaign, including the most recent,
yielded the same result. This time, however,
we could be a part of something bigger; part
of the biggest strategic transport project since
Victorian times: Crossrail. You know the detail,
you know the process and what we have to do.
Let's get to work. We can do this!

We’re delighted to welcome Azzuri Pizzeria
in Streatham Vale in the old Crumbs Bakery
premises, providing a much-needed
restaurant for the area. It’s already proving
very popular with locals, both for take away
and dining in.
Another recent opening is nightingale Café
on Streatham High Rd- a welcome pit stop
for shoppers near to Lidl in the old Gregg’s
premises. We hear reports of excellent coffee
and croissants, and we’re looking forward to
giving them a personal try.
We’re looking forward to the opening of the
Inkspot Brewery bottle shop in Sternhold
Avenue, which should happen in the next few
weeks.
The old Purple café is getting a refurb by its
new owners prior to opening as the Astoria
Café – we are
looking forward
to meeting
them too.

Great news for Streatham this month is that
we have the best pizza in London, as the
Evening Standard has picked both Bravi
Ragazzi and Adomme for its top 10 pizzas
in London.
They are not the only great pizzas in the
oven, though, as newcomers Trio Pizzeria
are getting a reputation for their excellent
thin crusted and heavily loaded version.
Jono Openshaw of Fitness First (and lasagne
expert) sent us this report.
"We were greeted with a warm welcome and
ordered the classic lasagne and the rucola
pizza with a side of salad Caprese. The
lasagne (my favourite food) was sensational,
actually taking me back to fond memories
of holidaying with my family when I was
younger. Yes, it was that good! A classic
dish, truly well delivered. The rucola pizza of
mozzarella, olives, tomato, oregano, rocket
and grated parmigiano was fresh, crisp and
satisfying, whilst the side of Salad Caprese
was served with absolutely sensational top
quality fresh Mozzarella – apparently sourced
from one of the best fromageries in London.
I really want to arrange to go back for the
evening Jazz that is on every night. Marks out
of 10? Service: 10 Food: 10"
We hear Kwasi and his chef cut their teeth at
the original Pizza Express and Pizza on the
Park in the 1980s. Hence the free jazz every
evening is from top names (some have per-
formed at the Hideaway and Ronnie Scott’s),
which makes for a great night out.
Azzuri Pizza 132 Streatham Vale. Streatham
Mums’ Network is buzzing about this new
restaurant.
“Delicious pizzas, super cheap (£5.99 or
£1.99 for a mini), and lovely friendly service.
Please support this lovely local venue which
is desperately needed down this end of
town!”
“Two good experiences at the new Italian
on Streatham Vale. All staff very friendly and
welcoming… pizzas were huge and delicious!
A great new addition and very affordable. We
will definitely be going back”
Perpericon, 16 Greyhound Lane, run by a
Bulgarian-Italian family is also recommended.
Some say the pizza is more American style
than authentic Neapolitan, and they also have
Bulgarian dishes on the menu.
So, is Streatham the pizza capital of London?

Streatham Hill Theatre
John W. bRoWn
From Michael Caine to Sean Connery, a galaxy
of stars have performed at the Streatham Hill
Theatre. "Not a lot of people know that" as Sir
Michael would say.
For over 30 years the theatre thrilled local
residents with a wide variety of performances
from plays to pantomime, musicals to opera. It
survives today as the Beacon Bingo Hall. The
original splendour of its internal decorations and
fittings can still be seen, and to help preserve its
fine architectural features it has been listed as a
Grade II building of historic importance.
One week the building would echo to the sound
of raucous laughter as the great comedian Max
Miller would tell jokes from his "blue book",
while on other occasions the rafters would
ring to the melodies performed by the Covent
Garden Opera Company.
On the same stage where Julius Caesar was
mercilessly murdered by Brutus in the famous
Shakespearean play, Humpty Dumpty fell from a
wall to his death in a Christmas pantomime.
The building was designed to accommodate
2,600 patrons, giving it a larger seating capacity
than famous West End venues such as Covent
Garden or the Drury Lane Theatre.
The first performance took place on the 20th
November 1929 when Jessie Matthews and
Sonnie Hale starred in Charles Cochran's revue
"Wake Up and Dream".
Throughout the 1930s the theatre flourished
and helped establish Streatham as one of south
London's leading entertainment centres. It
continued in operation throughout the war until
tragedy struck at 7am on 3rd July 1944 when a
V1 bomb smashed into the side of the building,
blowing out the wall and destroying part of
the circle balcony. Such was the extent of the
damage the Theatre was forced to close.
After the war the availability of building materials
was restricted with priority being given to
house building. As a result it was not until 1950
that repairs were completed and the theatre
reopened that Christmas with a production of
the pantomime, Cinderella.
Over the following decade, as television became
increasingly popular, audiences declined and the
theatre closed in June 1962. That summer the
building was refurbished and it reopened on the
14th November 1962 as a Bingo Hall and has
continued in use as such for the past 53 years.
One of the best night's bingo at the hall
occurred in 1999 when two people each won
£100,000 in a single night.

FAIR
The Streatham Common Co-Operative AGM in
October, was a really interesting evening with
presentations from Dom Leary the manager of
SCCoop and Richard Payne, Chair of Directors.
We were joined by Cllr Jane Edbrooke Lambeth
Cabinet member for neighbourhoods, who
outlined the results of the Lambeth consultation
Culture 2020. As expected, parks and cultural
services across the borough face cuts of 40%.
The Streatham Common paddling pool has been
earmarked for closure but SCCoop want to work
with local residents to see if it can be kept open.
If you'd like to help out, contact admin@scoop.
org.uk
Taking on the Common
The next stage in the development of SCCoop
is the expansion of their responsibilities from
running the Rookery to running the Common
from next April. Proposals are being finalised for
this for presentation to Lambeth by the end of
the year, but is clear this could mean acquiring a
tractor, much to the excitement of the team!
Rookery Cafe - lease out to tender
Perhaps the biggest news to come from the
AGM is that Lambeth and the current cafe
tenants have been unable to reach agreement
on the terms of the new lease. This means that
the lease will be shortly going out to tender.
Whilst a new tenant is being sought SCCoop
think it is important that the cafe is kept open.
We love the idea of a pop-up cafe - if you might
be interested, please get in touch!
Garden news
The Rookery has been looking amazing
throughout the summer. New planting areas
in the Old English Garden are really beginning
to fill out, and help from volunteers has been
invaluable.
Work was done to the perimeter hedge after
the summer bird nesting season was over, with
hedging reduced and over 3 tons of green waste
composted. It may look a bit bare in places now,
but with spring growth, good foundations are in
place.
Streatham Common Bonfire Society
There will be no firework displays provided by
Lambeth this year. SCCoop wants to form a
small group to organise an event for next year.
There will be a small initial meeting at the barn
at the Rookery on Wednesday 11th November
7.30pm - 9pm, please go along to get involved.
Christmas Fair
On Sunday 20th of December, SCCoop is
planning a Fund Raising Event in the Rookery,
with a Christmas Market, Santa’s Grotto and an
informal Christmas choir creating a lovely place
to come to get into the Christmas spirit. Think
minced pies, mulled wine, Christmas carols,
Santa and lots of Christmas Chaos and cheer!
As well as looking for locals who would like
to run a stall (especially local food and craft
stalls selling great Christmas presents) and
local choirs, they're going to need enthusiastic
volunteers to help with all aspects, from making
wreaths, serving mulled wine and mince pies,
and helping with publicity. Email pollyanne@
sccoop.org.uk.
For more information and to join SCCoop go
to www.scoop.org.uk. It only costs £1 to be a
member and support their invaluable work to
improve and preserve our beautiful common.

St Thomas Church Reopening
114 years after it was first opened, St Thomas
church building on Telford Avenue, Telford Park
was officially blessed and reopened by the
Bishop of Southwark with the Mayor of Lambeth
and hundreds of local residents and members in
attendance on 27 September. The service was
a glorious celebration of the old and new with a
large band and choir, as well as the preserved
organ. Like many celebrations, it finished with
food and a glass of something sparkling.
Following the £2m redevelopment, St Thomas
has new facilities for church and community.
Inside the church a new baptistery has
been sunk for full-immersion baptisms. The
professional landscaping around the church
has transformed the look of the place, and soon
there will be an area for a community garden.
The feature that is truly stunning is an incredible
piece of contemporary glass artwork reflecting
the uniqueness of the local community. Seven
metres tall, it fills the chancel arch and separates
the worship space from the new meeting
spaces. It has been created by Sarah Galloway,
one of the UK’s leading contemporary glass
artists. It is rich in Christian symbolism as well
as being simply beautiful.
Revd. Martin Gordon, Vicar of St Thomas with St
Stephen said, “Sarah has captured a real sense
of who we are as a church and created a vibrant
piece of contemporary art that will add to the
heritage of the local area. At the same time she
has created something beautiful that will help
many to connect with God.”
The project was financed through the generosity
of the church congregation and local community
as well as the sale of the church hall on
Radbourne Road in 2013. The final phase of the
re-development has seen the chancel area at
the east end of the church transformed into a
chapel, a catering kitchen and a café, creating
a new upper hall whilst retaining the original
vaulted wooden ceiling dating back to 1927.
“The increase in meeting space means not only
that we can offer more provision for children
and young people on Sundays, but that the
church can also be a resource for the whole
community.” said Revd. Gordon.
The newly refurbished church provides a
genuine focal point for the area and it is hoped
that members of the community will regard it
as theirs whether they are worshippers at the
church or not. It’s well worth a visit.

Welcome to Hideaway, the
orange glow at the heart
of London’s South West End!
Come and relax at a venue that has over a century of
entertainment history woven into its fabric.
If a building had a soul, Hideaway’s would be the one
with the old guitar and upturned hat, each new riff
drawing cheers of approval from the growing crowd.
Our legacy of happy audiences begins in 1910, when the Empire Picture Palace opened here,
the purpose-built cinema becoming a cornerstone of Streatham’s thriving entertainment scene
in the interwar years. With other cinemas, theatres and bingo halls opening up and down the
High Road, the Empire re-launched itself as a sporting club and
dance hall – staying ahead of the entertainment pack by bringing
people together in a more intimate and social environment.
As war broke out, these morale boosting dances helped tie
the community together – until the day when the first V1 to hit
Streatham took down the Empire’s auditorium.
The Empire’s site was rebuilt, and the band struck up once more – since the 50s these walls have
been tickled by rhythm and caressed by song - music clubs like The Dolphin, Les Fous Hiboux and
famous bars such as Ziggys. At the rear, for three decades, Potters Snooker Club was dedicated
to the hypnotic beat of clattering balls and subdued conversation – eventually the final ball was
pocketed and the musical phoenix that is Hideaway rose in a friendly burst of orange!
This award-winning music venue on your doorstep comfortably
rubs shoulders with iconic jazz clubs in the West End and New
York. State of the art sound in a modern, sophisticated and
intimate interior creates the perfect place for you to bring friends or
celebrate with loved ones, or just let it all hang out for a while with
any number of hand-picked, top-class bands casting their musical
spell upon you. Mica Paris, Courtney Pine, Lonnie Liston Smith,
Lianne Carroll, Jocelyn Brown, Omar MBE…. the list keeps growing.
Plan your visit to Hideaway now!

It was a bright and sunny day on Tuesday 29th
September 2015. A particular day and a time
to commemorate two brave people. Gathered
around the Streatham war memorial by
Streatham Common, were many who had
come to remember the courage of two
local people, who were awarded our
highest medal, the Victoria Cross,
for their gallantry in the face of the
enemy during the Great War of 1914 to
1918. These heroes of Streatham were

Arthur Fleming-Sandes (1894-1961) of

Engineers
Frederick Johnson was awarded his
medal for leading his men in repeated
attacks on a German strong point on
25th September 1915. Although wounded
in this action he later returned to duty and was
killed in November 1917.
Arthur Fleming-Sandes of the
East Surrey Regiment.
Through his action in the face of the enemy on
29th September 1915, Arthur Fleming-Sandes
inspired his troops at a critical time, thereby
saving the situation.
A large crowd gathered around the War
Memorial saw the laying of wreaths
on two stones. These have been set
into the ground by the War Memorial
and are engraved with the Victoria
Cross and the name of the recipient,
regiment and date. These were unveiled
by the Mayor of Lambeth, His Worship,
Councillor Donatus Anyanwu and other
honoured guests. Prayers and the
Blessing of the stones were led by the
Revered Mandy Hodgson, Rector of
the St Leonard’s Church, Streatham.
Before the close of the service the Last
Post and Reveille was sounded by a
uniformed bugler. Among the contingent
of soldiers present was Brigadier Richard
Smith, Deputy Commander, London District who
gave the Response, and Johnson Beharry, who
was awarded his Victoria Cross in 2004 whilst
serving in Iraq.

Business is booming in South London!
by EiLEEn DonAghEy
82% of small to medium sized businesses
in South London expect growth in 2015/16
according to a major survey of South London
businesses conducted by law firm Anthony Gold,
who have an office on Streatham High Road.
Commenting on this business positivity Chuka
Umunna MP said:
"I am so proud to be from such a great part
of South London and to represent our area in
Parliament. Businesses in our area have been
working incredibly hard over the last few years
and it's fantastic that so many are feeling positive
about what the future holds.
"I think the future's great for our area and I will
keep backing organisations like the Streatham BID
to make sure it stays that way."
The results paint a great picture for living and
working in South London. There’s a thriving
independent business community who intend
to invest in training and recruitment into
successful small and medium businesses. 60%
of businesses see their staff levels increasing
which will be a tremendous boost for jobs in the
local area. Given the survey was conducted over
a range of different sectors this is promising for
job seekers.
Network rail should be pleased to see that
80% of businesses asked felt the property and
infrastructure developments at London Bridge
would have a positive impact on their business.
South London businesses cited local
regeneration projects, fewer parking restrictions
and lower rent and rates compared with north
of the river as helping their businesses to thrive,
as well as the large number of independent
businesses in the area. The Streatham Business
Improvement District (BID) was also specifically
mentioned.
Stephen Whittaker, Head of the Anthony Gold
Streatham office comments, “It is wonderful to
see such positivity for the Streatham area. We
actively support local trade and hope that all
sized businesses based here flourish in the years
to come.”

Streatham Through And Through
by JULES CLiFF
REPoRT
SPonSoRED
by
The Streatham Redskins have had a terrific
start to the season in the National Ice Hockey
League Division 1, winning 7 out of their first
9 games and scoring 55 goals. Czech import
Kamil Kinkor and the ever-popular Steven Fisher
lead the league’s top scorers with a number of
players on the score sheet, demonstrating talent
throughout the team. I took the chance to do a
quick Q&A with a man who has a deep-rooted
love of the game and all things Streatham, 35
year old Captain, Joe Johnston.
So Joe, how did you get into ice hockey and
why Streatham?
I started skating around age 2 and playing
hockey when I was about 4.
My Grandad was a top ref in the country and
my Uncle Jim was playing for Streatham so you
could say I was born to it.
Have you ever lived in Streatham and what
memories do you have?
I lived in Streatham as a child and all my family
were born and bred locally. I loved going to
Streatham Common, some of my earliest
memories are at the Rookery, and I pretty much
grew up in the old ice rink.
Which ice hockey players have inspired you?
There’s loads but I always looked up to Uncle
Jim and wanted to follow in his footsteps. Tony
and Adam Goldstone were inspirational to
me, as was Pete Quiney. These days people
like Dave Carr and Nicky Chinn that keep me
inspired.
What is your best memory of playing for
Streatham Redskins?
Every goal I’ve ever scored. My first ever goal in
senior hockey was in 1993 as a 13 year old and
that will always be special. As was leading the
team out for the first time in the new rink.
What does being Captain mean to you?
It means everything to me and it always has. I
see it as a huge honour to play for the team I
grew up watching, so to be able to captain is the
ultimate accolade.
What do you think our chances are for this
season?
We can go all the way this year. It won’t be easy
and we’re in no way favourites but we have a
squad capable of winning the whole thing.
How important is the local community to the
Streatham Redskins?
It’s vital. We are striving to be a positive example
in a place that sometimes suffers with negative
press. We want to engage with the community
and give people something to be proud of. Our
local community defines our club and we need
local kids to get involved and become future
Streatham greats.
What do you think of the fans at Streatham?
They are the best fans in the league, if not
the country. They support us unconditionally,
whether we’re 5-0 up or 5-0 down. We’re not 5-0
down as often as we used to be so it’s probably
easier to support us these days.
How would you appeal to the good people of
Streatham to come to a game?
If you love Streatham, come and support your
local team! It’s a great night out and you can
cheer on South London’s finest in a comfortable
arena with a few drinks while being entertained
by some fast physical action. If you’ve never
seen ice hockey before I’m pretty sure you’ll be
hooked.
